I purchased the keypad door lock to replace one that was broken. Certainly, I was a bit concerned that this one would fit in the same location without me having to drill new holes or modify the door in any way. Having performed a lot of woodwork, this would not have been a problem for me, but I just would rather not need to do that. I know that most of the measurements are “standard” and this made me a bit more comfortable. When I received the lock and handle system, I carefully read through the instructions just to be sure I didn’t miss something. The only thing I had to do was increase the depth of the hole in the door jamb for the deadbolt. Not a big issue and about a 2-minute job with a 1-inch paddle drill. I certainly appreciated that the lower bolt on the door handle is adjustable (this was not mentioned in the write-up, but is often standard on better quality lock sets). This eliminated my having to drill a new lower handle hole. Other than the door jamb, I did not have to drill anything else. The strike plate had square corners and the one I replaced had round corners. No big deal, as a couple minutes with a Dremel tool took care of that. I found this lock set to be of very high quality and simple to install. The instructions on the deadbolt installation were very clear and easy to follow. The key on installation was to look at the pictures carefully so as to route the wires through the door correctly. A neat feature is the manner in which the deadbolt automatically determines if the door is right-handed or left-handed. That was a nice surprise and worked like a charm. If you are careful and follow the directions, you will have no issues with this. As an engineer, I thought this was a nice design feature with the electronics and made the installation fool proof. The only things I felt should have been included in the package and were not were the long screws for the secondary strike plate (the heavy one behind the visible one in the door frame for the deadbolt). I did not have an issue however, as I just used the ones from the old installation. If this was a new installation, I would have had to run to the hardware store to get these two long screws. Not really a big deal and easily done, but I was just surprised. The whole job went together effortlessly and is a nice-looking installation. High quality, nice looking, and easily to install. The programming of fingerprints, codes, etc. was easy and accomplished in a few short minutes. I certainly would not hesitate to purchase this lock set. As you can see in the photo, all I have to do is wait until spring when it warms up a bit and repaint the door!

Worth the money for this lock! Easy to install. Requires 4 AA batteries and will alert when batteries are low. You can program to auto-lock after a certain period of time. It’s very helpful for my kids to get in and out without a key. Locking system stays locked if you don’t have a verified fingerprint in the memory system or don’t know the code. I recommend programming multiple codes, one for each person. You can easily remove a code if the person is no longer visiting or living in the home. I love the fingerprint scan feature. As the homeowner, I scanned both of my thumbs into the memory so even if one arm is full, I can still unlock the door with the other hand. However, if you scan a fingerprint into the memory system and then need to remove it, you’re required to scan that same fingerprint one last time to remove it from memory. It made for a harder goodbye after breaking up with my boyfriend. Should have just gave him a code. Other than that, it has been wonderful in every way!

Very easy install process. Make sure to use parts from the kit as the measurements are exactly what you need to ensure proper door closure. The videos didn’t fully explain the door handle install but it is easy to do. The video fully explains the key pad lock install and is great to follow. One thing, Does not need app to lock and unlock, although app would have been convenient to use also. Overall rate 9/10!

FIRST...I LOVE THE DIGITAL DEAD BOLT! I forget how many entry codes (that you program yourself) it will hold, but I believe it's at least six. My 3 stars review is more about the handle. Lately, I've been having issues with the backstop not working properly. The other day, I was "locked out" by the backstop not depressing far enough into the handle to release it from the door frame. I've checked to see if there are any screws loose. NONE. I will be taking it apart today to find out if I can fix it. (HOPING!!!). If I can't, then, you know the rest. I don't see what adjustment could be made, as it's the inside of the handle that doesn't like to completely click into place at the point of complete release of the engaged backstop. I do know I've had it for a few years, but I don't believe a door handle should be skipping out while on duty. I've never had this issue with any engaging door handle ever before. That would be a lot of years, (and the rest is NUNYA biz don't be asking my age! 😂). UPDATE: I FINALLY had time to take the door handle apart, and I solved the problem with white lithium lubricant. Please note, DO NOT SPRAY YOUR LOCKS OR ANY MOVING METAL PART WITH W-D40 AND NOT FOLLOW UP WITH A VERY FINE METAL LUBRICANT! EVER!!! Yes, it will break loose whatever it is freezing up...such as rust or other corrosion; BUT, if you don't lubricate the problem child, it will freeze up again. #1, I didn't have a frozen lock. I just had a problem with it fully engaging. AND, white lithium grease...comes in a spray can...did the trick. I took the door handle completely off and with the little red straw that fine point directs the grease, I lubricated the inside of the inside working parts, working them as I sprayed the troubled areas. VOILA! WORKS LIKE A CHARM. The more I used the handle over a few days, the more the white lithium melted into the working mechanism. No more issues!

I have had this lock about 6 months now and love it. You can use your finger or a code to unlock the door. It’s great so you never have to leave your door unlocked for someone or if you want someone to have access to your home without them having to have a key. You can store 6 finger prints. Not sure how many codes, as we only need one. Personally, we have people come home late frequently and I hated leaving the door unlocked, especially with people sleeping. Now my door is always locked and very easy to unlock. There was once my finger print didn’t work so I used the code. I cleaned finger print scanner and the next time it worked for me. We used their measuring guide, my door is 20 years old so my husband did have to make the hole where the lock goes a little bigger, but otherwise not a terribly hard install.

This fingerprint door lock has been one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my front door. Setup was quick, and programming multiple fingerprints was easy. The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate—I don’t have to fumble for keys anymore, and it unlocks instantly. The keypad is a nice backup option, and I like that it also has a regular key if needed. The build feels solid and secure, and the sleek design makes the door look more modern. Battery life has been great so far, and it even gives a low-battery warning, which is super helpful. I feel safer knowing my family can get in easily without worrying about lost keys. Definitely recommend this if you want convenience and extra peace of mind

Update: We've been using this daily for 2.5 years now and its still working as expected! I love it! **TIP** keep the included "Quick Set Up" page and WRITE your new master code and any added user codes on the page and then keep it in your safe or files for future use. I cant remember if the code we use was a "User Code" for the kids to have or if I gave them the "Master Code" to use... in hind sight I hope it's a user code because thats what we have ended up giving grandparents and such. There's no way to look that up if you didn't write it down somewhere. Oops. **Oh yeah- I also recommend putting more than one finger print per person on there. I have my thumb and both index fingers on there, plus my index finger almost sideways because if your nails get long, you cant fit your finger on there straight. It doesn't recognize the finger if it's not in the direction you entered it. If you end up with your hands full or have a cut or burn on your finger then you cant scan. And I can never remember codes so for me, I added a few fingers. Lol. ...................... This is perfect for our front door. Easy to install and program. I installed it by myself while my husband was at work. I have added the kids (preteens/teens) fingerprints so they don't need a key if they go somewhere with friends and get dropped off at home or ride the bus. Super easy. No worries about forgetting your key. I just wish there was a way to easily rekey it to use the same key as another entrance or to buy one of these for another door where they'd have the same key. I know the point is to not need a key but you need one SOMEWHERE as a backup in case the battery dies and you cant get in. So now we have 2 keys... and want to replace the garage to one of these and will then have 3 different keys. (Front door, back door, garage door). We had 1 key for all 3 doors prior to getting this. Its just for a backup so not a huge deal. It works perfectly so far.
