I have an old Makita grinder and its going to fail, so I think. I saw the Milwaukee 2880-20 grinder at a great price on amazon, I got it. Later, I was doing metal work and cutting with a 4.5" cut-off blade, I was on/ off cutting for about 3 hours and this grinder is easy for me to hold and brace the material with my other hand. I love the power of this grinder, I use a Milwaukee M18 XC6Ah battery with this grinder I get more than 3 hours of on /off cutting time and there is still more power to cut. ... show more

I’ve been buying into the Milwaukee tool line over the past year and like all the tools thus far, this grinder does not disappoint. I bought this grinder to use as cutoff wheel to remove various nails, hardened truss plates, and steel strapping that was out in field with no electrical power nearby. For the purpose I bought it, the grinder worked like a champ. I only used XC5.0 batteries and found that a single battery was plenty enough for my uses. However, if you have a ton of grinding as like with welding a bunch of pipe, I’m not so confident a cordless option would be the best unless you have a bunch of spare batteries ready. Of note, in comparison to my older dewalt corded grinder the rpms on this grinder seam to be a bit lower. The grinder also has a stop brake which is much more convenient than I thought it would be. Typically you have to hold the grinder for a bit before placing it down so it doesn’t chew into something, but the stop feature negates this as it near instantly stops as soon as you lift off the trigger. There’s also a soft start feature which is awesome, as you can literally start the grinder single handed as there’s very little torque trying to rip it out of your hand. ... show more

Another great product from Milwaukee. This grinder is durable, reliable, and has plenty of power to get through the tough projects at work. Plus there is no need for a cord to drag around.

    • Tool works great but No WARRENTY?
I already own the corded version of this tool so I wanted to try the battery version and glad I did. Tested on closet maid shelving, it cuts as fast as the corded version. But I ran into one issue that I hope Amazon or Milwaukee will clarify : The 5 year warranty this tool is supposed to come with. No nothing wrong with the tool but when I registered it online at Milwaukee it said NO WARRENTY . I called Milwaukee and at first they said it was just an error with their web site. But the second they heard I bought it from Amazon, they said the problem was Amazon. They will not honor the warranty for any tool purchased from Amazon and my only recourse was to return the tool and buy it from someone who is authorized. If this is true why is this not stated in the purchase description? Is this even legal? Someone please comment. Love the tool but starting to wonder if Milwaukee is a legit company, ... show more

    • Excellent tool, but if I sorta wish I had bought the version that has variable speeds.
Great tool. I don't have much experience with angle grinders, so maybe this doesn't matter. Milwaukee sells a version that has a variable trigger - I might have liked that one better. This one almost feels like it will jump out of my hand when I pull the trigger. Granted, I should be using it one-handed anyway. It's a Milwaukee, so I know I'll love it for many years! ... show more
