This electronic door knob is extremely well-built. It legitimately seems "built to last", which is a characteristic it shares with very few other products that are sold today. It is without question sturdier than the door knob that it is replacing. Getting this sort of build quality in a product that is the cheapest in its class (by a good bit too) is all but unheard of. Even the included screwdriver is quality - unlike the oh-so-common "combination screwdriver + allen wrench", you get a real screwdriver with a handle and a removable shaft with Phillips on one side and flat-head on the other and that has magnetic tips. I might actually use this screwdriver again in the future by choice, which is a first. In addition to being well-built, this door knob also provides excellent functionality: * There is no connection to a cell phone / tablet / the internet, everything is set up and saved directly on the device (which is great in my opinion - I dont like the idea of someone else potentially being able to unlock my doors at will over the internet). * It uses 4 standard AAA batteries, nothing "exotic and expensive to replace". * The lock has a full-size standard key that will work without power and that you can get copied at your local hardware store for $1-2. It also has a USB-C port that you can connect to the same charger that modern phones/tablets use to provide emergency power in case the batteries run out. The lock is easy to install and responds quickly unlocking. The only downside is that the app features for extra security you have to purchase. You cannot pay monthly and the cost starts at $100 for the first year. The product is made in China and theirs a privacy agreement you have to agree to use the device. All your information they get access to. I tried declined but then I cannot use the device. But that’s today’s world. Your everyday life is for everyone to share. Not to be a dick but the luck is cheesy if you think about it. Is not a deadbolt so if someone can easily find a way to open it. You can buy it if you have a camera in the house for extra security. Just wanted to give you an update. The figure print doesn’t work properly. Tried resetting it 4 times, and it does not read my print. Also having problems with setting the number key access. The key tag is the best solution to access entry. I recommend do more research on purchasing a home lock. The product is ok. ... show more

This lock has great features but the fingerprint reader quit working after a couple days. It is also very big and causes your hand to hit the door jam turning it. I replaced it with the one linked below. The new one is smaller and easier to use and has a more accurate fingerprint reader.
