This pan is a piece of art. Reminiscent of the old time Griswold pans. Machined smooth inside, although there are some slight concentric ridges from what I would guess are CNC tooling marks. The pan has seasoned very well though regular usage and oiling. It's getting close to the non-stick seasoning of my antique cast iron pans. Fish doesn't stick to it now and it's only getting better. I’ve wanted a Finex skillet since I first saw one. Finally got one and I love it! Fit and finish is amazing! I got the 12” and I plan to mainly use it for searing steaks and other meats. My only regret so far is not getting the lid with it. I will get the lid soon!

This is our first cast iron skillet, and I'm sorry we waited so long to get one. These are great cooking pans. This costs more than others, but the smooth machined cooking surface is worth it. Easier to clean and ensure you have all food particles removed. You will get inconsistent heating over a gas flame (contrary to some thinking, cast iron isn't nearly as conductive as aluminum, and far less than copper) which I measured with an infrared camera. For a more consistent temperature over gas, use an aluminum heat spreader between the pan and burner. I see only 25F temperature range this way, and about 70F if it is not used. ... show more

Eggs. They work great! There is a bit of a sweet spot for temperature to not crispy up your fried eggs and cause a little bit of stick, but works so well! So much better than cheaper cast iron. Scrambled eggs are great, too. And hash browns. I do a very light clean up with some scrambled eggs, but very satisfied I don’t have to use chemical nonstick. ... show more

I do like the design. I thought it was a smooth cast iron pan. But only the inner bottom is smooth. The inner sidewall is as rough as my other Lodge pans. I can imagine it would cook well because it is cast iron after all. Mine came with a rough spot of the size of a bean at the inner sidewall. I just think it is too pricy just for the design. So, it was packed right back in the box and will be shipped back tomorrow. The smoothness of my De Buyer pans is still the best. ... show more

Bought this as a gift for my bf - we use it every day! I paid more for this one bc they use organic flax seed to season it instead of a mystery oil. It’s made in USA. I have to say this is the best Cast Iron Pan I have ever used. I have another cast iron but it is much larger and heavier than this one. I have to say the Finex 10"Skillet is super smooth and when cooking on it everything just cooks evenly and all the food just slides around which is amazing!
