I've been playing ukulele for about 5 years now, and I've owned a lot of ukuleles in that time, spanning all of the price ranges, and I can tell you, this is the best one I've ever owned. The sound is sheer beauty in every strum and note, the craftsmanship is nothing short of astounding, and the style is cool af. Objectively speaking, the body is ever so slightly larger than a typical soprano ukulele, which allows it to be a little louder than the standard, and gives it a deeper, richer sound. In terms of quality, it's what one should expect from a Fender instrument, that is to say, high. In terms of looks, it's extremely unique. You just don't see a ukulele with this type of head, or gold hardware, or this paint color, and it works just so well. The paint has a mat finish by the way, so you won't get much shine off of it. Truly a remarkable instrument. All that being said, it's expensive. I would not recommend this to anyone who isn't absolutely in love with the looks, because you can get the same quality sound and construction from any other Fender ukulele. ... show more

It is so pretty!!! I have the Fender montecito, and this is just as beautiful. Sounds pretty good, but I mean- it’s not as loud and clear like the tenor. I have nothing else to compare it to so I dont know. I do have a Donner soprano- this one is definitely softer and quieter, but maybe that’s what hooking up amp is for. ... show more

I know this is a pretty pricey ukulele and i was really hesitant because of that at first but let me tell you it is WORTHIT! This is my first ukulele and is amazing. It has a beutiful saound, look and comes with a high quality case and fetures a built in tuner (way better than a clip on) It stays in toon as it is supposed to and comes with a 3 month free Fender ukulele class subscription! It's TRASH! I got it and could never keep it tuned. THE WHOLE BRIDGE FELL OFF! The NUT FELL OFF when I tried to glue the bridge back! Check the 1-star reviews, and you will see this is a recurring issue. Very disappointed and frustrated since nothing I tried worked, and I doubt a professional could do any better trying to fix this instrument. I can't believe FENDER put their brand on this piece of trash. You won't even be able to use it as decoration. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! ... show more

My daughter just had to have this uke. She already has two and likes the different sounds and sizes of each. So this one made her list. I bought it early reading all the confusing questions about it. Some said it wasn't a concert size because fender doesn't make one that size...surprise...they do! I purchased it not even knowing it was electric because it didn't mention it in the listing....surprise...it is! It sounds ridiculously amazing and looks as good as it sounds. I'm happy to see the listing info has been updated. No app for it? Go nuts and pay the $35 at Kala for a years worth of giving joy. We've already tried it with an amp and its pretty sweet! Actually we are off to find a small fender later today to match this uke with. SO in short, more than we bargained for, its not just the Grace VanderWall name that makes this instrument amazing. ... show more

Looks beautiful, comes with a great gig bag that has "Grace" branded on the front and mine came with 3 months of fender play for free. Only downside is the fingerboard of this ukelele is not on par with the rest of the instrument. The wood looks stressed and the inlays messy and obviously cheap. I would of gladly paid $50 more for a neck of the same quality as the rest of the instrument. ... show more

I’m not a musician or experienced stringed instrument owner. That being said I was still happy with this purchase. The quality seems very nice and it’s got a great finish and color scheme. It was well packaged and arrived quickly. It looks like a little mini fender guitar too, which is cool. But be careful when ordering a case/bag.
