first purchase of this item was 11/22. within a little over a month of use, the ‘red light of death’ appeared, which if you don’t know, that means the plates on the straightener would no longer heat up. after a refund, this item was repurchased on 1/23 because i liked the product otherwise and decided to give it another chance. 1 year later, the red light has appeared again, and the plates won’t heat up. considering the price of this product, this is unacceptable. if you decide to buy this, make sure to buy the product protection. i would not trust the quality of this product. very disappointed… a straightener should last longer than this :( ... show more

I have a lot and very curly hair and bought the 2inch GHD flat iron on recommendation from my hair stylist. This is by far the best one I ever owned plus the 2inch make it fast and easy to straighten my hair. And it lasts for days... Worth the money!!

I have the dry coarse frizzy type of Asian hair and have struggled with my hair all my life. I bought this when I saw the videos and thought I would try it. It took a few times to get used to using it as I normally blow dry with the Dyson. I also purchased the Dyson AirWrap which was a complete waste of money as it does not work on my hair at all so I was pleased with the look and results of the GHD Max. I can actually have straight hair and no frizz around the forehead. And it does not frizz up in humid weather (I live in Asia), It heats up quick and the handle has been designed to be held easily. It comes with a nice pouch and can be easily stored. I just need to practice using it. I probably won’t use it all the time but it is a relief to know I have this alternative. It is expensive but for those who have my hair type, this is quite incredible and worth it. For once I don’t have to stand 25 min to finish blow drying my hair, perspire or have sore arms. ... show more
