I have very coarse curly hair and this is the only tool I use that can straighten properly and leave my hair super shiny and soft. This is a good hot iron for my hair type. I don't have overly thin hair nor do I have heavily course hair. It offers ONE heat setting. The technology is to adjust to your hair type. I LOVE it so much more than my Babyblis which I have used for almost 12 years. I only need to go through my hair 1-3 times, depending on what section of my head I'm working on. My hair is smooth and silky. No snagging, pulling. I wrap my hair at night to keep out the kinks, puffiness that can occur when I sleep and when I wake the next morning my hair is silky soft and straight. I am definitely using the hot iron less frequently; 1-2 times a week. For me, it's worth the prices.

Update: I have to admit that am no sure it heats up to 137... it feels a lot hotter so I guess that's the secret for straightening fast and leaving hair very straight, sometimes I feel it way too hot :/...
