I have used a window exhaust panel as my cat access to and from our Lanai. Has worked well but older cat can't slink and shirk like she used to, hole was only 5". I bought this mainly because it is meant for a window and not think like the ones for people doors. I have some think heavy duty packing foam sheets and attached one to each side. Now all the cats have easy access in & out and the magnet keeps it from blowing open, it needs a little head or paw push to get threw which the cats figured out very quickly, Treats help...lol. Since it is in our lanai, I leave it in most of the time unless we are away for a period of time, days etc. Price very well, easy to work with. It works but I have some concerns about the door being too heavy and also injuring my cats tails when it shuts. The door is a heavy hard plastic and it shuts very quickly on my cats and I have seen them become fearful of it. I bought this door to go on an aluminum garage door so my cats can get in out of the cold. The thickness works for that. However the rear “panel” is NOT the same shape as the front panel nor does it have any holes to line up with the screw holes from the front. The instructions are also unclear.
