  • SpringSpa 1600W Sauna--Honest detailed owner review!
Size: 1-2 Persons
Exactly what I needed for my back and muscle pain. I did not want the addition cost of rewiring my home for 20A to accommodate other saunas. This sauna plugged right into my standard 110v/15A (Nema 5-15) outlet. SpringSpa is a no hype seller and have excellent email response times, if questions are asked. This sauna room DOES have space for two small-framed individuals or a small and medium frame. However, two larger framed individuals may want to look for a larger unit. Either way, be aware of the heating elements at your hip level, they can get over 200 DF. Here is what I can tell you about my sauna from my short time with it: - Literally snapped together (using two people) in 30 minutes. There are clamps on each wall that clip together with bottom quarter-round moldings that fit like magic. Truly amazing from a mitering standpoint. - Very light and pleasant wood smell after setup (NO BAD SMELLS OR CHEMICAL SMELLS AT ALL) - Weight holds sauna to the base (floor). There are no screws, but surprising this work well and is stable. - Measured external dimensions, 37.5"Deep x 43.25" Wide x 75" Tall (on carpet) - Measured internal dimensions, 33" from back heater slat (back of seat) to door, 39" side to side (heater slat to heater slat), 71" standing room for me (Note: I have a thick rubber mat on the floor that takes up about one inch. - Internal seat (19D x 39W x [17H from mat] - Wires are aligned logically for connecting panels wires to the top control unit - 9 screws. 4 to hold the seat down, 2 for CO3/ion box, and 3 to secure the top--the screwdriver is included! - Cup holders just drop in - Manual sliding wood vent at top of sauna - Small temp gauge in middle of roof - Heaters are already mounted on the wall - Door glass is already mounted and tied down and is the heaviest part of the install - The door glass has a magnetic stop and is tied, but it will flop out about 5 inches when carried (be sure to place a finger or two on it to keep it steady.) - Heated from 77 to 140 Degree F (indicated) in about 20 minutes (or slightly less) - Note: There is NO floor heater, but I still received a good heavy sweat in about 25 minutes use. It should also be noted I got in the sauna during warmed up (approximately at the 100 Degree point), for the ease of warming my body temp slower. Total time in sauna was about 40 minutes. Time in from the 140 Degree set temp was 25 minutes - Temp peaked to about 147 (indicated). I am not sure if that was true temp, but it was very "HOT" to me. - Sweating was causing the windows to fog from the bottom at that time so I opened the vent. - Outside unit walls remained in the 70-80 Degree range, never heated up. - Sauna plugged into a Nema 5-15 outlet that controls several bedrooms and a bath on the same circuit. - Minimum electricity was used by the other rooms on the circuit during sauna use - The sauna draws up to 1645 watts from warmup to final temp. - At final temp, my sauna was drawing around 1590-1603W - With the power off, there is a parasitic draw of 4-4.7 watts constant (don't know why). - Highest temp indicated on panel = 151 Degrees (I believe that is off by about 15 Degrees). Two other thermometers only read between 130 and 139, with highest temp measured on the ceiling and rear corners. - Low temp was about 110 at the calf (floor). - I noticed a short power electrical bursts up to 1670W as a peak - Power cord remained cool (room temperature (71 DF) rising to about 81 degrees during a full cycle with house room door closed. - Breaker in house main electrical panel stayed cool (no heat generated during draw from sauna - Outlet in room remained cool with very little variation, +/- 3 Degrees from room temp (this could have also be due to room temp increasing during heat use). - Room temp rose to about 77 Degrees during use and to 80 after use sitting in the room after session - Speakers are okay. Nothing to brag about and nothing to complain about--but you have Bluetooth music to help relax you if desired. - Control panel is designed at the 8th grade learning level--icons and arrows! No need for manual there. - Note, if you want play music while you relax outside of the sauna, sauna power will cut off automatically after about 5 minutes of no use. - Lastly, the lights are bright and come with a remote to change colors and can be dimmed. If you power off the sauna the default is white (reading) light. No good instructions on this either, but I found the remote very intuitive. MY BOTTOM LINE: I looked at many saunas and spoke with local dealers. Ordered one from Amazon that was 20A, and sent it back. Everyone I spoke to locally tried to get me into an 1800W+ sauna but did not tell me that it required a dedicated circuit that has to be installed by a qualified electrician. 1800 watts is the maximum any of my home circuits would take, so the peak on an 1800W unit would be dangerous to me in my case. Rewiring would have cost me more than the cost of the sauna. I am glad I found the SpringSpa 1600, it is the perfect true plug and play unit and I do not have to worry about wiring 20A or popping breakers. I love this sauna and truly recommend it for anyone wanting it for personal (not party) use. If this review was helpful, let me know. Be safe and stay hydrated! ... show more

  • Love everything about this sauna!
Size: 1 Person
I started looking for saunas after my local gym shut theirs down. At first I was skeptical of the infrared heat and whether or not it would get hot enough. After receiving the package which was carefully boxed and crated to a pallet, I was able to unpack it and install by myself with relative ease. The panels snap together and I had it ready to go in under an hour. The control panel is simple and is very easy to use once you turn it on the first time. Set the temperature, time, adjust to Fahrenheit, and even connected to Bluetooth without any issue. It comes with a remote that allows you to change the light inside for different moods. I like to use red at night to simulate sunset and get my body ready for sleep. Once on it takes about 15 minutes to get to 120 degrees. This is usually when I’ll get in and let it continue to heat all the way to 150 which takes about 30 minutes total. The included back rest is crucial for comfort, so I’m glad it came with one. And the cup holder is a nice feature even though I rarely use it. As mentioned the sauna gets nice and hot. 120-150 degrees is plenty warm for most people. After 20-30 minutes I’m drenched in sweat. An additional benefit I’ve found is how the heat opens up my sinuses and allows me to breath afterwards. It’s a great way to start and end the day and has become part of my daily routine. The speaker allows me to listen to podcasts or audio books which helps pass the time. Overall I’m very pleased with this sauna. It’s exactly what I was looking for. ... show more

  • SO Easy!
I spent quite a bit of time researching saunas and was about to order a different unit when this beauty popped up in the suggestions. I thought it was very reasonably priced for the size. I like that there’s minimal glass, and when you sit in it it’s not claustrophobic. The speakers sound amazing! It comes with a back rest which is very comfortable. I had scheduled the delivery for two weeks out. (impressed that I could pick a delivery date) I received a notice three days later that it had shipped, and TWO DAYS after it shipped our local transfer company was calling me to say they could deliver it now if I wanted! It came in one big box and packed EXTREMELY secure. My husband and I put it together, pretty easily. I’m so happy how easy it was from start to finish ordering this unit. We haven’t had time to use it yet, but so far so good! ... show more

  • works better then expected
I RESEARCHED WELL, AND FOUND THE THIS 2 PERSON SAUNA WITH NEAR ZERO EMF WAS THE BEST DEAL FOR THE MONEY. LOW EMF'S IS THE DRIVING FACTOR FOR INFERED SAUNA'S. THE LOWER THE EMF'S, THE PRICIER THE SAUNA GETS. MOST SAUNAS IN THE $2000 RANGE HAD HIGHER EMF'S 7-8 RANGE. RESEARCH SAYS THAT HEALTHY EMF RANGES ARE 3 AND LOWER. NEAR ZERO IS THE HEALTIEST ONE OUT THERE I COULD FIND. I ASSEMBLED IT MYSELF , SO IT CAN BE DONE, BUT AT TIMES IT WAS TUFF TO SQUARE UP THE SIDES AND BACK-FRONT PANELS SO ALL THE CLAMPS WOULD SNAP IN PLACE EASILY. WITH PERSISTANCE, I GOT IT DONE. WITH 2 PEOPLE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BREEZE. (ALL) THE OTHER ASSEMBLY ASPECTS WERE VERY SIMPLE AND VERY EASY TO ACCOMPLISH IT TAKES ABOUT 35 MINUTES TO REACH THE 149 DEGREES FROM A ROOM TEMP OF 69 DEGREES, SO PLAN ON THAT . YOU CAN STILL GET IN WHEN IT 120-130. ITS HOT THEN TOO. OVERALL I WOULD DEFINATLY RECOMMEND THIS BRAND AND SAUNA. ... show more

  • Well made and very confortable
The incomplete instructions are a joke and the link to the assembly video for a sauna other than this one was no help. An improvment would be to number the pieces in the order to be assembled. Ideally the manufacturer could hire a Technical Writer fluent in english to write new assembly instructions. It took us about 1 & 1/2 hr from opening the box to ready to use with two people. If this Sauna had decient instructions I would give it 5+ stars as it really is a good Sauna. Some people commented that there was no heat for the feet. The lowest heater is at the calfs but if you preheat the Sauna the floor is warm. ... show more
