DISCLAIMER ABOUT NEGATIVE REVIEWS saying these drives aren't as fast as fanxiang claims: These drives ARE FAST and in most cases, they are probably faster than the customer's systems are capable of achieving. I've been upgrading several of my computers over the past 6 months and happened upon fanxiang branded 2.5" SSDs and decided to try a few mainly because they were less expensive than most other brands with similar specs. Sure enough, the data speeds were as promised (using CrystalDiskMark) and then I tried one of their smaller (1TB) m.2 drives and was also pleased with not only the performance but also again, their lower price compared to similar brands. So... I decided to 'go big' and got the 4 TB m.2 but decided to go for the 5000 MB/s instead of the faster one (7300 MB/s) simply because my system couldn't even make full use of the 5000 MB/s speed. This drive replaced a smaller 1 TB Sabrent Rocket (gen 4) and actually beat the read speed by 1000 MB/s while the write speeds were almost identical. I am thrilled with the performance, formatting was simple, and I quickly transferred around 350 GB from my smaller m.2 SSD to this one in a matter of minutes. While I have only been using fanxiang hard drives for about 6 months, I have not had any issues, but don't have a long enough history using them to comment on how well these last over a period of years. What I can say, is that they are less expensive than other brands of similar specs. Again, I just want to stress what I mentioned at the start of my review. These ARE fast drives, in many cases, the limitations are going to be from the motherboard itself, and also, transfer speeds (in actual use) will also vary based on the size of the files being transferred (transferring small files is much slower than transferring larger files).

I like this product, it runs smoothly with my PlayStation 5. I like how an extra screw and thermal pad is included in case I misplaced it mess up one. I also appreciate the screws and screwdriver being included so I can connect the heatsink to the base. HOWEVER, I will note this for future PS5 players. You will need a Number 1 Phillips Screwdriver in order to remove the △◯X□ screw when you take off your PlayStation 5 covers. Along with using the Phillips 1 Screwdriver to take out the screw to move the spacer from 100 to 80. The blue screwdriver included is too small to unscrew those. Besides this the SSD itself is great! Their written description of how to do it correctly didn't help me much but their guidance video did!

I had some trepidation buying an SSD from a company (Fanxiang) I've never heard of but I have heard of very good things about the 3D NAND chips from Yangtze Memory Technologies Corp (YMTC) which is supposedly used in the SSD so I was very interested in trying it out. Wow! I am super impressed! The SSD itself looks just as well made as other better known brands and I appreciated that it came with a tiny screw and screw driver in the kit. I migrated my Dell XPS desktop from a smaller SK Hynix PC801 NVMe 512GB SSD to the larger 2TB Fanxiang S880 SSD. While they both have approximately the same rated speed, my computer actually feels faster with the new Fanxiang. Bought the s880 model for my PS5. Also purchased a separate third party heatsink. Put everything together and installed the ssd drive in the console. Took less than 5 minutes. The PS5 immediately detected and formatted the new drive. The read time is 6541 MB/s which is well aboved the 5500 MB/s minimalrequirement. And the storage CLEARLY showed the full 4TB available (not sure why other reviewers only got 3.86 TB). But so far everything is good and this price for 4TB is great considering I paid $270 for the Western Digital 2TB ssd drive a lil over a year ago. This is a newer unknown brand but I will take my chances since there is a 5 year warranty and I do not anticipate any issues.
