It also seems to hold a charge for a while which is nice. The one odd thing (I don't know if this is just the one I got) is that the "flickering" effect of the orange light seems inconsistent. Cute light. It has two different setting that can go brighter or dimmer. There’s a candle setting that will flicker and one that’s just a regular light. The brightest setting has enough light coming from it to light up my daughter’s room. It was purchased to give her a night light to read with. It has an easy on off button in the front. She charges it every few days but the battery life is good on it. There was nothing to put together but you have to charge it for a few hours before using the first time. My kids love this night light! The sounds are great and I love that you can adjust the volume and brightness. It will run for quite a while on a full charge and will still work plugged in if you forget to charge it. I bought one for my youngest kid but my teen wanted one too after seeing it so now they each have one. They like the fire crackling sound. This candle lamp is adorable and looks exactly like the photos. The lamp top is made of a reasonably thick clear plastic that feels durable and unlikely to shatter if dropped, and the base is also plastic. The lamp itself is lightweight, but it feels well made overall and should hold up well. This would easily be a five-star nightlight if not for the light mode options. The default light is reasonably bright white, though it is dimmable to a comfortable low level. The warmth of the orange light is the perfect color, but it is only in a flickering mode. If there were three modes - white, steady orange, and flicker - it would be ideal. As it stands, our toddler dislikes the bright white setting, and the flickering orange can occasionally scare her. The flicker isn’t a gentle candle-like effect so much as an intermittent pulsing on and off at varying intervals, which seems to happen more when the lamp is touched. It does add to the lantern-style realism, but it’s not ideal for many toddlers. That said, this is still a great nightlight. It’s the perfect size for a bedside table, fits nicely with nature-inspired bedroom decor, and looks incredibly cute. It works very well as a nightlight and can even provide enough brightness to function as a soft ambient light for the room or on the go. This thing is absolutely adorable. It has a white glow and what looks like more of an orange glow. I wish it was a bit more yellow but the dang face is so cute on it that it doesn't even matter.
