the disk drive I used to have in my pc stopped working a few years ago and I never replaced it. (IIRC I threw my desktop, I can't remember why to save my life, honestly, no hdd at the time, only an m2 ssd so the pc works as normal, but the expensive m-disc compatible disc drive, which I was going to use for data archival and storage but never really did, stopped working correctly and I eventually removed it. Relatedly I need to clean my pc soon, thing is filthy). Anyway, I usually download ps2 roms to emulate since no disc reader. There was one I couldn't find online so I ordered this to rip the copy I have on hand (I own the vast majority of the ps2 games I emulate). It works like a charm, and I ripped a few more games while I was at it. Might rip my cd collection later too. it's been sitting unused for a few years. Oh and while the instructions for this say not to use it with a usb extension, I did because the built in lead is short, and it works fine, though my extender is blue, meaning it's usb 3.0 rated. It's a 3 or 4 foot extension.

I was looking for an external drive as the computers nowadays do not come with these drives as we are told this is how it is if you want one it will be an aftermarket option. it is something how we are told which is good for us and which is bad for us and you will now download everything so we can keep track of what you are using. Well I was looking for a good quality name brand drive which seems to be very hard now. I seen this one by ORIGBELIE, never heard of them before doing this search. This Drive had everything I was looking for and worked right out of the box, no gimmicks or no software needed. This Drive had a case and then a soft bag inside the case, was very well made and worked well. I put the CD of an older game into the Drive to load onto my laptop and everything went smoothly. I just wish the cable connection from the Drive to the Laptop was a little longer, as the way I have my Laptop the connection is on the right hand side because of space constraints and plugging the Drive in on the right hand side is a little tight, if it were just two inches longer it would be perfect. Overall, this is a very good External CD DVD Drive

The Drive performs exactly the task I ordered it for. Like many of the products we purchase to expand the devices for our 3 USB port laptops, this unit will not work on a USB hub. The unit is Plug & Play. The rest is all petty stuff. The User Manual is printed on the typical 4x4 paper. Get out the bifocals and a magnifying lens. There is a website for customer support/warranty. I could not find a reference to a website to download the user's manual and be able to read/see what the many ports are for on the drive. I assume it is customer support site.

It was the perfect product for our needs. It is compact and comes with a hard, zippered protective case. The built-in connecting cables tuck nicely into secure holding areas on the bottom of the drive. It operates quietly, which is appreciated when watching movies with it.

I was excited to pair this drive with my 2023 Mac Studio (to burn music productions). I plugged it in, and nothing. It powers up just fine, the lights come on, it sounds like it's reading the disk, but my computer cannot detect this unit. It's as if it isn't plugged in. I tried all ports. If you're a Mac user, I would not recommend this drive. I returned the item. I tested the CD functionality on my Windows PC, and it did work seamlessly on Windows (cannot speak to the DVD functionality). Unfortunately, it's not compatible with Macs (at least newer Macs).

After my father passed, I spent a lot of time going through old boxes of photos to display at his wake. I came across a DVD I had made for his retirement party, probably close to 15 years ago. I wanted to play the DVD at his service but had no idea how to accomplish that in this digital age. I ordered this product on a whim and it worked perfectly. The dvd recorder is very slim and I have trouble operating the eject button. If it jams on the owner, just unplug it and reset the device by plugging it back in to the PC or laptop. It was not expensive and is plug and play; with great recogition of the DVD drive.
