The first truly functional inexpensive Chinese drive I found that works Testing several of the inexpensive Dries found on Amazon and other sites I typically found portable CD players that would successfully read and rip audio CDS but this is the only one I found that could actually successfully write or burn a CD while plugged directly into the port of the computer a couple of the others would burn successfully if they were run from a powered USB hub but this one is the only one of the cheap ones that I bought that actually completes a burning process that gets it 4 stars the only thing that keeps it from being five stars is the very flimsy plastic housing construction typical of these class of drive that makes handling the CD tray and the C DS themselves a bit fiddly at the risk of breaking the drive or misalignment of the disk disk In summary if you really want to go with the cheapest drive you can find with a reasonable insurance that it will not only read but also write this is my recommendation ... show more

This cd drive is very quick and convenient to use if you have to do anything with CD’s. I had some issues with my software itself and decided to return as I have no use for it. It’s also not bulky and can be stored conveniently. Easy to connect and stays powered on as long as it’s plugged into your device. As a 2000s kid who grew up playing Zoo Tycoon, Zuma Deluxe, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and more I have been looking for a way to break back into these games and I finally found a way. Pros: - The CD reader plugged right into the side of my computer in the USB drive. There is an additional attachment on it that connects to the USB to allow for USB-C plug ins. - The player allowed me to play the computer games with no issues. - The player read the games quickly and didn’t struggle if it was bumped as the old Walkman players did. - you don’t have to install any applications to use the player Cons: - inserting the disk is difficult if you don’t push in at the perfect angle. A bit noisy, and works great. I just plugged it in, and a took a moment to get recognized. No additional software or app needed. It vibrates quite a bit when operating, but I bought to rip old cds to my laptop, so it’s not on all the time. The price was great, I would buy again.
