  • Premium external UHD 4K Blu-Ray Writer Super-Muti drive.
  • Support M-DISC BD-R. CNC aluminum body.
  • The UHD blu-ray drive can read UHD, read and write regular Blu-Ray, DVD, and CD with proper software. For regular blu-ray, DVD and CD, you can use whatever applicable software that come with your computer, or search for the proper software to install on your computer. For playback UHD blu-ray, we recommend using CyberLink PowerDVD. It is a 3rd party software that require additional purchase, and it is the only one that we found is reliable.
  • Please make sure your equipment meet the CyberLink PowerDVD requirement by going through a test by search " Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor " before purchase. Please note that Cyberlink PowerDVD currently has only PC version. For MAC users there is no suitable UHD blu-ray software yet to the best of our knowledge. So on Mac computer you can only play and write regular blu-ray, DVD, and CD but not the UHD.

  • It is okay
It works. It does make more noise then a regular DVD player but it does work perfectly fine. It does have a few os glitches but, it really isn't that bad for being a portable blueray DVD player.

  • Seller stands by their product
I bought this and it worked great for about a month and a half, then it stopped recognizing discs. I contacted the seller and they told me to return the broken one and they would send me a new one. I did have to pay shipping, that was the only downside. Once I gave the seller the shipping number they sent out the new one, even before they received the original one back. The player works very well for what I use it for and the seller is outstanding in their service. ... show more

  • Had to flash firmware.
Very nice 4k player. Quality construction. Works well to rip UHD disks. One star deducted because of the need to flash the firmware to rip UHD disks. Not a difficult task for users familiar with computers, but three days of research and trial & error for me. Works great once the firmware has been corrected. Flashing is not required for Blu-Ray disks. It is a great player especially at its price point! ... show more

  • Good for reading 4K UHD BluRay's but it has its limitations.
I bought this primarily for ripping my new UHD discs and making backup copies and throwing them up on my NAS drive for media playback back in June of 2019. While it did work for the most part after I flashed it back down to Firmware revision 1.00 I still had a ton of read errors with this drive and would constantly have to try and try again until I'd get a decent copy. It would read just about every standard BluRay I throw at it but it just had issues with UHD discs. Just recently I purchased Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection, The Hobbit: Trilogy and Lord of the Rings: Trilogy all on 4K UHD and just about every one of the discs it had issues reading and would not even register as a disc in the drive and I could hear it clicking try to read the discs. After a little research I came to the conclusion that this drive has issues reading Triple layered UHD discs the ones that are 100 GB in size. Well all of the movies I just purchased it would not read the discs because they were all on triple layered discs. After even more research come to find out just about all the slim external drives have this issue and so I started searching for a standard 5.25" UHD optical drive that I could house in a case since my computer is all tempered glass. Another thing to look out for is what type of case or connector to use on the standard sized drives since not all of them will allow you to flash the drive through them. If in the market look to the MakeMKV forums for info on what drives and cases are good to use for making backup copies. I wound up going for the LG WH16NS60 and a Unitek Y-1099 SATA adapter converter for output to USB both of which you can find here on Amazon. All in all it's a decent drive for backing up standard smaller sized 4K discs and your standard BluRay's but be warned that it will have severe issues reading triple layered 4K discs which a lot of the newer movies are releasing on and as more and more 4K movies start carrying supplementals on the disc you'll find that the disc is more than likely going to be a triple layered disc. ... show more

  • Works great for backing up BluRays
Was able to easily backup my BluRay collection to my computer with no issues. Works great with MakeMKV. Was also able to flash it with another firmware from the MakeMKV forum to be able to backup UHD BluRay disks as well.

  • Some minor issues
Noticeable, quiet hum/whine while reading a bluray disc. When I play the video again after pausing (using VLC software) the video will play for 2-3 seconds then have half second stutter with some visual tearing/pixel artifacts, but return to normal afterwards. This consistently happens when pausing and playing. There are some clicking, whirring noises when switching between episodes/sections of the bluray media, but that may be due to the design of thr particular blu ray disk I used. ... show more

  • Supplied cords are short
Seems to work good so far, the cord is real short and I have to use it on a desk or table and not in my lounge chair with my laptop on my lap desk. I don't have a way to use it with the short cord and had to buy a 6' cord to use it in my lounge chair. I can load it and set it on the end table next to my chair with the longer cord. Durability will have to wait as I have only used it three times to copy some disks to my computer., so it will take a long time to tell. ... show more
