My current laptops no longer come with drives. Bought just to watch the occasional DVD, that worked great. Day I got it, someone needed a CD burned, have not done that in ages. And it worked fine. Sitting on my desk head movement is noticeably audible when switching cd tracks. But unnoticeable while playing a DVD. For my application, perfect.

I got this to burn CDs and for that it works well enough, although it is quite unclear if you are doing things correctly with it. It is heavier than it looks, and visually I would say it isn't the best, I am not a fan of the texturing on the top, it looks worse than in the product images. I didn't need to install any drivers, so that is a plus, I used it on windows, but if it doesn't require drivers, it should function on any operating system. For how cheap I got it, its a steal.

Works ok. I only needed it for reading old disks. Sometimes I have to use a paper clip to pop the door open and sometimes it takes more than one try to get a good read. But this device was extremely inexpensive and is good enough for me.

I was really surprised to find out that newer models did not have a disc drive cause there’s just so many things I can think of that this drive would be useful for times are a changing. I tell you I looked everywhere on my computer for this dick drive and was again very sad to find out. It didn’t have one.

It took me about an hour to figure out how to get this dvd/cd player/writer to function. I am using windows 11 pro. When I plugged it in and inserted a disk, it found the disk but windows media player would not load the media. I downloaded VLC player and after about half an hour of fiddling with it, I finally got it to load the movies I wanted to play. I cannot attest to how durable/long lasting this will be….but it seems to function properly though not quite plug and play for me.
