Great disk reader, and has pretty decent read and write speeds. I used this for burning cds and it’s very straightforward as long as you have the correct software. If you need a cheap and reliable CD player that can read cds and burn music or movies on to them, then for this price this should be your go to.

Works ok. I only needed it for reading old disks. Sometimes I have to use a paper clip to pop the door open and sometimes it takes more than one try to get a good read. But this device was extremely inexpensive and is good enough for me.

Sure, I'll write a review. I plugged it in and it works, first time! Just like it's always been a part of the computer. Nothing to install, no need for additional power outlet, runs off USB. No software included, but for what? Essentially what you have here is your typical laptop-style drive, meaning, you snap the CD\DvD to the spindle and push the drawer in. Watched a DvD movie on it last night, even paused it a couple times, no problems. Update: Okay I had some problems develop a few weeks after use: 1) wouldn't read disc. 2) ejected disc, ejected disc so much I couldn't keep it closed, ejected on boot up, ejected in middle of a movie! 3) started vibrating like it was exceeding its RPM. Then, I turned it over, removed three screws and re-seated the drive in the connector, and closed it back up, and so far it's been quiet and playing nicely. Okay, Love It!! This drive and VLC makes for a great DvD movie player!

Working great on my Windows 11 PC. No drivers were needed on my computer, it was recognized and works for CD's and DVD Disc as soon as I connected this drive. Good deal for the price. Does not work with Blu Ray or Dual Layer DVD.

Most laptops do not come with a CD/DVD drive anymore and sometimes i have a need for one. I chose this external drive as the solution. The price was reasonable, it's not obnoxiously large, and works well, with a minimum of set-up required.

It took me about an hour to figure out how to get this dvd/cd player/writer to function. I am using windows 11 pro. When I plugged it in and inserted a disk, it found the disk but windows media player would not load the media. I downloaded VLC player and after about half an hour of fiddling with it, I finally got it to load the movies I wanted to play. I cannot attest to how durable/long lasting this will be….but it seems to function properly though not quite plug and play for me.
