My journey to discovering the Hanycony 12 Plug Power Strip with USB began with a mishap involving another purchase. I initially bought a "Smart" power strip, which promised the ability to control devices via an Android tablet. Although the concept seemed fascinating, I forgot about this feature and simply used it as a basic power strip for two months. When I finally tried the "Smart" functionality, I was shocked (no pun intended) to find that it required invasive software that collected and transmitted sensitive data to third parties. No, thank you! With a sigh of disappointment, I returned the "smart" product to Amazon and embarked on a quest to find a more straightforward power strip with ample connections and USB ports. As fate would have it, I stumbled upon the Hanycony 12 Plug Power Strip with USB during a "Lightning Sale," and it checked all the right boxes. It had 12 outlets, a 5-foot braided power cable, 4 USB Type-A ports, well-spaced outlets, surge protection, and most importantly, no intrusive features. Still craving some "smart" functionality, I purchased 4 Govee Dual Smart Outlets, a brand I've trusted for other products/needs, and they fit perfectly with this power strip – a divine pairing indeed. Thanks to the spacious design of the outlets, I managed to fit an additional 8 smart outlets on top of the strip. Controlling various devices in my computer area has never been easier, with an Android tablet screen serving as my command center. Though the power strip has been a game-changer, it's not without its minor shortcomings. For instance, it uses USB 1.0 ports instead of the more current USB 3.0 and lacks USB-C ports. These are trivial concerns, as I rarely use the USB ports in the first place. Additionally, I spotted a small burn mark on one outlet upon unboxing, but it didn't impact the functionality. Lastly, the absence of proper mounting brackets was a bit concerning, given my power strip's location atop a 6-foot cabinet. I've made do with using clamps for stability. The Hanycony 12 Plug Power Strip with USB is a fantastic option for anyone seeking a basic power strip that packs a punch in a compact space. It has been a reliable companion in managing my myriad of devices, and I appreciate the added surge protection for peace of mind. I have been using this for over a year and it's perfect. The fact that there are outlets on different sides makes it perfect if you have a smaller desk. My only complaint is you can't use it for C to C cables.

After my smart watch was fried from a surge, I bought this immediately. So far no surge issues! I live the plugs being on the side and the top, and I love there is USB and micro c outlets and I love that! The cord is braided, which makes it look nice in my room, as it is exposed. I love the fact that this product has an on/off switch and surge protection, 12 outlets and four USB plugs, two of the regular variety, and two of the smaller, USB – C. There are many long, narrow extension cord/surge protectors on the market with outlets, but I needed a place to plug in 2 devices that have large adapters and that causes a lot of problems with getting other plugs to fit into the outlets. This product helps because six of the outlets are on the sides of the product and I will be able to plug everything in without a problem.. The other nice thing is that I can just plug my USB charging cords into that section on the end of the product. II just got this one and I love it but the cord is a little too short so I’m going to move it to a different location in my home and buy one of the same product with a 10 foot cord. The media could not be loaded. No more switching my plugs/plugging and unplugging to make room. This has all the outlets I need and more. I love that it has usb-c and USB ports on the side for chargers and my Bluetooth speaker. It also has space around each outlet to accommodate for large plugs. I love how compact it is despite all it can hold and it not an eye sore like my previous surge protector. The price was not bad for what you get. Now all of my devices will be charged, even my mouse and keyboard which were always low on battery.
