I needed a better extention cord anyway and I like this one. I bought it for an appliance that draws 18 amps. This cord tripped at a full 18 amp draw, so...It's not a 20 amp extension cord. I'm disappointed. Keepingnit for other uses.

My new heat press specified that it needed to be connected to an outlet that could manage 20 amps and 110 volts. From what I understand, a 20 amp outlet is for appliances. My heat press resides in the garage and is connected to an outlet, but I don't know if it's a 15 or 20 amp outlet. From what I've read, 15 amp can handle 20, but I decided that I'd rather be safe than sorry, and purchased this heavy duty surge protector. So far, it's worked a treat. I don't hear the press clicking to maintain the temperature and the heat is consistent. While that might be the press, I'm going to attribute it to the surge protector for managing the power. ... show more
