Should I let the ice maker rest before first use? Yes. Keep the unit upright and unplugged for 24 hours before first use. This allows the internal refrigerant to settle and helps ensure proper operation. What type of water should I use? Use filtered, purified, and distilled water for the best results. Avoid tap water, hard water, and other liquids, as mineral buildup may cause noise and affect ice-making performance. When should I run the self-cleaning cycle? Run the self-cleaning cycle: · Every 30 days or after 150 hours of use, whichever comes first · During deep cleaning with descaler · When the machine is not making ice properly To start the cycle, press and hold the Ice/Clean button for 3 seconds. My favorite addition to the Kitchen this year

I was looking for a nugget ice maker that was on the quiet side, wasn't too big, and would fit nicely under the cabinets on my kitchen counter. This one really delivers. Assembly and cleaning is easy. I always make way more ice than I need for the occasion and then store the extra in a bowl in my freezer. The only drawback is that the cleaning regimen recommends using an entire pack of their cleaning solution each time you use the ice maker. It comes with ~5 packs of cleaning solution, but I could see this getting expensive over time. I'm sure soap, water, vinegar or even bleach (if there's mold) would work just as well. I just recommend after each use, leaving the ice maker completely open on the top and the bottom to dry out completely. I didn't do that the first time and it got a little moldy (the cleaning solution destroyed that right away). Since I've let it dry out completely, I haven't had any mold and each time I use it, it's like the first time I bought it. I definitely recommend this for households of 1-3 people. Any more than that and you may want to go with something bigger.

Excellent Ice Maker!

So so good! This machine works as expected! I was surprised at how fast it makes ice. I filled up my freezer bucket in no time! The machine is about as noisy as I expected for a countertop appliance. After awhile I didn't even notice it. And it shuts off once the basket is full. Some comments I've seen is the ice is wet. I have tried 3 different brands and they all produce wet ice. I have learned if you let it set for a bit in the bin, the top 3/4ths of the ice aren't as wet. I also place my ice in a zippy bag and pop in the freezer that way I can break it up in the bag then put in my freezer bucket. I'm getting another one for my grandkids! I can't say enough about Euhomy customer service. I had an issue with the basket and they have responded to all my inquiries promptly. Top notch customer service is so refreshing!

Slowwwwwww to make ice

Takes FOREVER ( over 2 hours ) to make ice!!! And I’m using cold water right out of the fridge! The ice is good, small pellets like I like just don’t be in a hurry to get them. Update: Euhomy customer service contacted me about my concerns with my ice maker and explained how it works and the different variables that can make it take longer to work. I still wish it worked quicker but it does make great ice and it runs so quietly I can hardly hear it. Also I have to give high praise to their customer service. They went above and beyond any company I have ever dealt with. I have added a picture of the exact spot where it sits in my kitchen. Beside my refrigerator where there is good air flow around it. It’s away from any heat including sun light. I highly recommend this company.

Great counter top ice maker!

Love this countertop ice maker from Euhomy! It’s very stylish for the kitchen, makes ice quickly and is not noisy. It comes with a 4-pack cleaner which is very nice and it has a handy little hook for hanging your ice scooper which also comes with the product. I would recommend it for families with young children—especially ones who like to eat the small ice just for fun!

A practical joke in lieu of a product description!

That's not a product description it's a practical joke! It does not make ice in 5 minutes. It might make a watery, little, slushy drop of sleet, Maybe. One, it took over an hour and a half of babysitting ice to get enough to fill my 32 oz thermos with 1.3 lb of ice. 5 minutes as a joke. I measured the ice once I got it into my thermos so I'm certain about the amount and the amount of time that it took to make it. It took over 2 hours to complete the cycle almost two and a half hours to complete the cycle. Two, it says that it's insulated to keep the ice cold while it's making. This is not true. The ice begins to melt as soon as it hits the basket and begins dripping back into the water reservoir. That it would do that was expected. However, the product description makes it seem that it will at least stay frozen until the batch is made. This is absolutely not true. It begins to melt right away, insulation does nothing to stop that, and so the ice has to be babysat constantly so that it can be removed to the thermos or whatever you're going to store it in in the freezer before it melts. Three, It's only nugget ice for a second. Again it has to be babysat and removed directly to the container. But it does as ice is want to do: immediately start melting! So, if you remove it to a container for the freezer it then refreezes because it's in the freezer. I'm here to tell you that once ice has begun the melting process and then refreezes it is no longer nugget ice. It's just a chunk of ice that you have to attack with a steak knife to get out of your container and into your glass or thermos. This is the most pathetic waste of money and I really feel that Amazon should step in and make them change the product description. It is patently false advertising. Four, it isn't easily returnable to Whole Foods. Return requires a a printer and a UPS drop off or a scheduled UPS pick up. Inconvenient for me. Amazon! Step in and require honest product description!
