  • Excellent Function and Reliability

What I like: Very sharp video, microphone pics up sound very well, human recognition mode nearly flawless and have only had two alerts to non-human movement in the six months it's been installed, easy installation and synchronization with the home base, great amount of options for customization preferences, very fast response from the time it detects until it notifies you (95% of the time), and it was a good infrared lighting system when needed. Issues so far after six months: I clicked the live view one time while I was out of town and then decided to click out of it and just watch the recorded video of someone who had left a package. It was taking awhile to load as I had spotty cell service where I was and so I clicked back out and then on live view. This confused the doorbell and it took itself offline. When I got home that day, I could not get the doorbell to recover no matter what I did according to both the instructions or a message board for Eufy. I decided to remove the batteries from the device (which you need a jeweler's screwdriver to do) for 30 seconds, and then I put it all back together. That solved the issue and it hasn't happened since. The batteries are only lasting about 2 months but my house has a very high volume of in and out traffic, so I don't necessarily think it's a issue, but just to show what the rate is, I have about 10-20 instances of people going through that door a day. I have friends with the other brands and no matter what brand they have, they think theirs is the best and that may be. However, I'm very happy with this system and have added other Eufy cameras to the system and am very pleased with them all. ... show more

  • Probably the best options out there for cams and security
Style: Solo
I really like the This camera system. I’ve got four cameras now one of the front door at three looking at all sides of our property. What I like most about this camera system is the clarity of the video the storage and the ease of retrieval as well as the way the system stores only on SD card memory, not some big brother site with monthly fee. The motion detection is perfect and is easy to define on each individual camera. The system works well at night and being able to communicate through the cameras audio is fantastic. I have not had any problems with the app and was pleasantly surprised with the consistency. The only thing I would ask them to change is the fact that the number of motion events can be erased inside the app, but the running total of events is on the main icon and does not reset. Battery life is amazing. I upgraded the included SD card to a 128 gig Level 10, 100 gig speed and it works great. I install security cameras and AV equipment for a living, and this is one of the best performing systems I have used. Kudos to Eufy for a great design and GUI that really works. ... show more

  • An honest Five-Years-Later review of the Eufy Doorbell S220
Style: Solo
What we love: •We own two of these and they have lasted (officially) 5 and a half years as of January 2026 •The battery has never needed to be replaced •A single charge lasts a couple months in an average traffic area (home) but approximately 1 month in a high traffic area (our office) —both set to record upon motion detection and at their highest settings •Although they are only 2K, the video they record is even better than Eufy's so-called 4K cameras •After all these years, they are still working like new and Eufy has never stopped updating them (yay!) What a prospect buyer should know: •As will all wireless cameras, notifications have some lag (this is not exclusive to either this model or the brand) •Also, (only sometimes) the camera fails record some events (movement) •Trying to snooze the camera from the app, for this particular model, has ALWAYS required touching the snooze button more than once, but then it works (yes, it continues to happen over the years and none of the software patches has ever fixed that) but that is no biggie •It is fantastic as a doorbell and camera, but IT SUCKS at two-way communication for the audio is very delayed •It is rechargeable with a micro usb (yes, the pedestrian charger) but if you have a fast charger (like we do) it charges much quicker than anticipated Through the years, all our other Eufy surveillance cameras have died as the years have passed, but this ones stands still and, while we have replaced all other with newer Eufy cameras, we have not upgraded the doorbell cameras for they still continue to work. ... show more

  • Good Addition To Original Homebase 1 System
Style: Solo
When Eufy finally made this doorbell compatible with the Homebase 1 I added to my 3 camera system that I bought on the 2018 Kickstarter campaign. It functions perfectly well, paired easily with the Homebase, and is replacing me porch camera, which will be moved to the back door. The only weakness I've found in the system is the occasional connection drop to the Application Server. I understand they use AWS, so I don't know whether the problem is with Eufy or Amazon. Seems like it happens once a month, usually for a few hours. When I couldn't connect for days, I checked with Eufy and found they hadn't updated me Homebase firmware. They updated it and the problem went away, until the next connection problem which was systemwide for a few hours. Overall I'd give the cameras 5 stars, but only 4 stars for the overall system due to server outages. BTW, the battery life between charges is really a year unless it's in a high traffic area. My garage camera first charge lasted "only" 8 months, but at the time I was getting 40-50 recordings/day. Since that tenant moved, battery life is similar to the other cameras, at least 12 months. ... show more

  • Best Security Camera

Eufy doorbell is so easy to set up. The camera quality is great. I bought 2. One for my front door and one for my back door. I love that no subscription fee is required. I am replacing my Ring Doorbell with Eufy.

  • Easy to install, wired or wireless option, great picture and app is super easy to use
Style: Solo
I researched several doorbells and went with Eufy because they do not require you to purchase a monthly subscription. The doorbell is super easy to install. While this is a battery-powered wireless doorbell you can also hook it up to your existing wires so you do not have to charge the battery, this is very slick. The wiring was not tricky at all, you simply connect the 2 wires to the back of the doorbell. The picture, night vision, and view angle are incredible. I connected this doorbell two a 2 camera Eufy 2C Pro camera system. The app and installation are super easy to follow and the number of customization options for scheduling and options within the app works flawlessly. It is super easy to change the settings, notifications, schedule, etc. Make sure you update the firmware for the doorbell within the app when you go to install. I have only had the doorbell for 2 weeks and it has blown away my expectations. ... show more

  • DO NOT PURCHASE: Worst security system with various flaws
Style: Solo
Think about this: There are a lot of one star reviews for a reason. . . UPDATE (10/04/2022): Customer service response to the current issues: "Unfortunately, if your order has expired its 12-month warranty, and if the device is defective, we are sorry that we are not able to arrange a replacement for you according to our warranty policy. However, we register all defects and evaluate them statistically. These statistics enable us to identify any increased defect rates or concentrated product problems, so thank you very much for letting us know about your product." Be warned, small issues from the start with the entire eufy system only to have it breakdown after 2 years. And nothing can be done about it with customer service. DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM! UPDATE (09/29/2022): This eufy system has gone from bad to worse. Battery low, so cam 2c charged. Last charge hardly lasted long at all. Now camera, after fully charged, unable to play live video. Deleted device. Added device. Restarted homebase. Still no work! Restarted wifi. Deleted device. Added device. Restarted homebase. Still no work! Deleted device. Now UNABLE TO ADD DEVICE! After multiple tries Still unable to add device. Restarted everything. STILL UNABLE TO ADD DEVICE! This has gone from bad to worse. There is always some issue that happens with this eufy system. It's horrible and frustrating. So damn disappointed with eufy. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! UPDATE (12/16/2020): Have had the system for approximately three months. Also purchased indoor cameras a few weeks after first purchase. Problems still occurring but past time period to initiate refund. Contacted Eufy customer support on numerous occasions who suggested different settings and system upgrades but errors still occurring even with various adjustment settings. Customer support responds with the same excuse that their tech team is working on the issues. Thought that it could possibly be the 2C cameras that were defective and, in one email, offered to send replacements. Then, in another reply, offered to send a Pan/Tilt indoor camera as a replacement. It was a nice offer, but the issues are with the outdoor 2C cameras and not with the indoor cameras at all. In one reply, customer support offered a $25 refund for the unsolved issues. $25?! That was insulting. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM! I cannot stress that enough. Poor system. Multiple false alarm issues. Dysfunctional Zone feature. Inconsistent notifications (sometimes it will capture a person, sometimes it won't). Faulty AI. Horrible customer support. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM! ‐-------------------------------------- THE GOOD: Camera has decent image quality. Set up fairly simple. Battery powered 2C camera will last a few months as long as AI does not filter out too many events. Will record and store events locally (no subscription fees). THE BAD: AI will detect numerous false detections (ex: shadows detected as human faces). No matter how you adjust the sensitivity or activity zones the system will give frequent false alarms of shadows presenting as a human. Very distracting. Also, how would you pay attention to a REAL alert when you are constantly bombarded with false alarms. The eufy system cries wolf a lot. So much, that you become reluctant to have the siren on at all. Activities Zones that are set up are useless. Basically, you get a set of colored rectangles on your app while eufy still detects outside of those zones (which also drains the battery). And the zones that are set up are inconsistent when detecting movement (same problem as other reviews). Sometimes you will get a notification and sometimes you won't. Adjusting the sensitivity level higher does not help with the inconsistent notifications. It does, however, help with catching more activity outside the established zone. Indoor cams require a micro SD card to record events. Otherwise it is just a camera. Would be better if the indoor cam could link up with the Homebase2 and store recordings there. Would also be better if the Homebase2 had a micro SD storage slot instead. Geofencing does not work at all for multiple users. Even with one person in the zone while one is out of the zone eufy will change the security system to "Away". Geofencing will also place a family member "out of the zone" even if that person hasn't left the zone all day. Geofencing is also inconsistent across different units. One indoor camera will report a different status than the home system (Homebase2). Have reported issue to eufy support. They have responded fairly quickly, however the system updates that were provided did not solve the problem. After reading the eufy forums, the Geofencing issue has been a problem for a long time and it has not been resolved. After weighing the GOOD vs the BAD, the eufy system does not perform well as a home security system and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM. It will not provide adequate security protection. ... show more
