Style: Doorbell S330+Homebase
Ok, we have the wired version of this (you can also wire this one in, if you wish) but this one I got for my mom after my dad passed away from cancer. She didn't have a doorbell and sometimes some neighbor kids would do pranks, and also my parent's catalytic converter got stolen off of their vehicles a while back. It was very stressful. (Ours did too, and we had to stay in town a few extra days to get one installed so that we could drive home.) While the doorbell won't prevent crime, it is very helpful to police officers. It is also a nice deterrent having this because when criminals see a ramp at an older person's house, they think easy target. This makes them a less easy target. I'm able to check on things for her, as are my brothers that live a very short distance away from her. It gives her peace of mind, and I was able to fulfill the promise to my dad ( even if I couldn't get it done before he passed away like he had hoped). We installed one of these on our home after trying 3 others, this is the ONLY one I would recommend (this one or the wired version, both are excellent). The thing to keep in mind with this unit if you utilized the battery (and don't wire it in) is you will need to charge it every 30-90 days, depending on how you use it. When you stream the video, you use that battery. When motion is detected, it uses the battery. The sensitivity level, will use more or less battery accordingly. Now, with 5 people at the time using the doorbell, it was going to be charge roughly in about 30-32 days. But now the way we have it set up, even with high sensitivity, and the newness has worn off for my brothers (lol) we only access it ourselves as needed, and the battery is easily lasting closer to the 90 days mark. I haven't checked to see if it lasted longer, but mom is charging it then anyways. The recent updates have also helped with false notifications like "your package was picked up" or "you have a package" when neither case was true. So if you read other reviews, this is fixed. The only false notifications is during really heavy busy storms, and even then it is rare. I also have a palm tree at my door so it looks like someone is running across the porch when there isn't anyone, so I do no blame the app at all. I'd rather be notified for the bad storm if I'm away anyway, so I can have someone check on my place when it passes. So I can't give this any higher praise. We own a lot of eufy products and they are all great quality. They are also related to ANKR, and we have been using ANKR for over a decade both personally and professionally. They have a great support team too. Neither of us have needed to use support for the doorbells or in the last few years, but they have a proven track record. REMEMBER, be NICE. Kindness goes a long way. No matter how frustrated you are, the person on the other end did NOT do anything to you. They are there to help you. Treat them like your bestie that helps you out on things and you will get to see their stellar support in action. Or not because they have an excellent line of products and they WORK. I’ve had multiple models and brands of video doorbell- this is the best one yet. It detects motion only generated by people, provides fast notifications, can be tailored with multiple distance settings plus activity zones, smart person detection, and works with my existing doorbell. (There have been multiple models that did not make my existing doorbell ring). It does not suffer from detection of cars and people outside the activity zones (sidewalk next to the street) and does not have multiple “motion alerts” caused by wind moving plants around (One doorbell would announce every passing car as a motion alert). As an unexpected bonus, it detects, records, and messages “packages being dropped off”, reminds you if you forgot to pick the package up by a certain time like 8pm, and tells you when “package has been picked up” and records that event. The dual camera works well and records both views at the same time- I had another brand with this and liked it. This one you can even set the area to be scanned for packages. The unit is a bit bulky-the included angle mount cuts down a little on the mounted footprint but this is still tall, wide, and sticks out / deep. Achieving what you might consider core functionality without frustrating errors (no car in street alerts, no wind driven motion alerts like my flag, doorbell really rings) was a nice change. Doing this without storing on a cloud, without a subscription fee, without sharing with law enforcement, and making intelligent ai detection of people (sometimes) and packages (almost always) “on device” is outstanding. Love the “you forgot to collect your package” option. Sometimes it will message a person as “motion” and not specifically a “human” esp if they don’t stop, like when we go in and out of our own house. Since there are no false motion alerts due to wind etc I can trust that motion alerts are people and ignore the fact that it doesn’t label the event as a person. And you might want to adjust or turn off the loitering announcement that is on by default- I disabled the voice prompt but kept the notifications. The packaging & labeling from eufy was a bit confusing between “wired” and “battery”- the battery version I bought works wired with my old doorbell chime and is powered by that wiring. From the app it appears there is a battery being charged by the doorbell wiring. The eufy website suggests there is a wired version but at that time I didn’t see how to order that from amazon with the required homebase2 so I purchased the “add on” dual camera which meant I had to purchase homebase 2 separately. And you do need a eufy homebase for this to be setup and work, it is not optional. The “kit” version comes with a chime, not the required homebase. If you want to, you can setup the homebase 2 to ring like a doorbell chime when the doorbell button is pressed so I don’t think you would normally need the kit they sell with the chime. When updating this I see there is now a separate wired dual cam amazon listing which may be what you want- but regardless be sure to order a homebase 2.

Was NOT able to use a wired one since location was too low for camera. This was a good option. Has worked flawless. Does have a slight lag when using voice feature. Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: ***** (5 star) No complaints at all. Battery life lasts about 2 1/2 to 3 months per charge. This will vary with how many of the features you use. Clear video, Good package and person detection.
