If you want an opaque yellow that is neither neon nor brown, this is the set you want. I've waited years for Gelly Roll to make some Moonlight colors in shades that artists use (NOT neon!!!). I use Moonlight pens for hilights and fine details in my art, but the original Moonlight set was half full of neon colors that clash with most artistic media. Despite the fact that this set gives you only 5 colors - two of each color - instead of giving you 10 unique colors, I like it better than their other new color set. The other set is good, but it has a lot of darker colors, it's spring green is really an ugly chartreuse yellow, and its yellow ochre is really brown (which is still great for hair and fur). I have tried other brands of opaque gel pens, but in my experience, other brands usually only work for a few months before they start clogging and skipping. Beautiful pens. Love the colors and they write well. My only complaint is that I've only have these pens since Feb 7th today is the 28th. It seems like some of them are already running out of ink even though I haven't used them much, and I can visibly see plenty of ink. There's been points where I pause in between my writing bc no ink comes out so I scribble on scrap paper for a goooooood min before it finally writes again. Maybe a bad batch on that end ? ... show more

I have used the Sakura gelly roll white pens for art work for awhile, and saw these in pastels so had to have them too - nice to be able to do accent pen work in colors other than white (or gold/silver). Lovely set of colors (two each). You could also use them for journaling, especially if you like to doodle or sketch on the pages. I use them to embellish watercolor art mostly. I got them for adult coloring. Some times the acrylic paint pens are too much. I use them for highlights and covering the black lines. I like them. They aren’t opaque enough to only use one coat. Coloring book photos is by Daisy Doodles here on Amazon.
