  • Almost 1 year update
Purchased in Nov 2020/Updating review in Aug 2021: I stayed with this lock and did not return because 1) I very quickly became addicted to the ease of fingerprint unlocking, and 2) Eufy customer service. They reached out to me almost immediately after I left my negative review. Note to anyone reading this - email is the absolute way to go in receiving customer support. We worked for several days on getting the lock to my satisfaction. They emailed me an update because we couldn't get it to successfully push through via the app (an update that was shortly after pushed out to all) that addressed all of the issues I had been experiencing. They offered to send me additional products in their lineup for my troubles, but I declined. Today's use/experience: This door lock is heavily used. It is on a door that is in a slightly covered porch. I say slightly because the ceiling is high and so the lock does get wet when we have a good afternoon storm. I've never had an issue using a fingerprint to get in day, night, rain or sunshine. Also never an issue using a pin code. I never went back to scheduling overnight locking as I am in love with the 24/7 autolock feature. No longer am I going down the street wondering if I locked the door at any hour of the day. Doesn't matter, because it will lock itself! I have it on a 1 minute schedule and it has never failed to autolock. I put fresh batteries into the lock after we pushed through the update in Nov 2020 and I have not needed to change them since. I do see via the app that they are slowly beginning to drain (indicating the reading is accurate and not falsely showing full battery power) and will wait for the warning beeps or app notification to change them. I have another way into my house, so I don't worry about being locked out. I also carry the manual key just in case. This lock does sometimes get stiff when manually turning it to lock or unlock the door. It's a rare occasion and doesn't irk me enough to reach out to customer support. I have not experienced it being stiff when locking or unlocking itself via fingerprint or pin code. I have probably six users saved in the lock along with their pin codes and easily a dozen fingerprints saved as well - sometimes your right thumb or finger is free and sometimes it's your left. An added bonus that doesn't really apply to my situation, but no one can get your pin code over your shoulder if you're not entering it. The app no longer feels clunky or hard to use. You can manage users within the app and if say you hire a cleaner or pet sitter, you can add their name and pin while you're sitting on the couch (need to be on the same Wi-Fi) before they even step foot on your property. Everyone doesn't have to have a fingerprint saved! And should you fire them, you can also delete their info in the same manner. Through the app you can see when they unlock and lock the door as well, essentially serving as a clock in/clock out feature. Many months ago they pushed through an update that enabled connection to a Wi-Fi bridge. I have not as of yet taken advantage of that, so cannot speak to that feature. In summary, I love, love, love this lock. If it ever dies on me, I will replace it with the same or newer version of this exact lock. I used keypad locks for years prior to this one and am a little appalled at how quickly we've become too lazy to press buttons to get in. Original review: This lock is easy to install and use. The app is clunky and not so easy to use. I just checked the lock events and the time was off by 24 hours. Is a big deal when we use scheduled auto lock for overnight hours as my husband works on call overnight and his biggest fear is forgetting to lock the door at the random wee hours of the morning he is called to go. This feature therefore wouldn't work if the app thinks it's daytime and no need to auto lock when in fact it is nighttime and very much needs to be auto locked. As a work around I am setting it for 24/7 auto lock but that's a disappointment to have a feature sold but not work. Also due to the 24/7 auto lock, this thing eats batteries like potato chips. I'm lucky to get a week out of a fresh 4 pack. It is the second week of Nov and I don't show a firmware update needed. Getting a human is impossible. I tried chat and interestingly the two different days and times I tried it, there were exactly 2 people in the queue in front of me and no matter how long I waited that number never changed. I'm undecided if I'll keep this lock. The fingerprint is awesome, but the battery expense makes this a bigger investment than planned, the features not actually working as advertised is a big disappointment, and the lack of customer support matters greatly. ... show more

  • Works for me and Support was great
I've had this lock for a few months now. I have installed it twice. the initial install plus removing and installing a replacement. both times the install was extremely easy and took maybe 10-15 mins including the app configuration. So why did I have to install a replacement? well, the battery drained out in less than a month and it was supposed to last about a year! I contacted eufy support and they were helpful and sent me out a replacement so they can investigate the hardware in case that was the issue. I had my doubts that it was a hardware issue and more likely a firmware issue. sure enough, I installed the new replacement, turned on auto lock and the same issue was observed. the battery drained quickly with minimal lock and unlocking. I decided to turn off auto lock and sure enough the battery drain slowed down where the battery bars remained static. I sent all my findings to support and my theory that the auto lock feature was likely thinking that my door was still unlocked when I manually locked it. it would do this thing where when I opened the door the auto lock would trigger and lock the door while it was open. a few days later, they had pushed out an update for this battery drain issue (9/11/20 firmware update). I installed it. switched auto lock back on and the crazy battery drain issue was no longer present since. eufy support also sent some additional batteries since the included set has drained a bit in my testing. as far as this feedback loop goes, it was an excellent experience to have helped solve a big problem from happening to others going forward. back to the device itself. finger print access and pin works well for me. key access is a little weird but I don't think I'd ever even use it. it's well built and feels very premium and sturdy. accessing the app via Bluetooth takes a little longer than i would like but good enough. ... show more

  • Eufy Security E130 Smart Lock: Your Trusty Guardian for Multiple Doors
I am absolutely amazed by the Eufy Security E130 Smart Lock Touch, a truly remarkable innovation in home security. The product has established itself as a trustworthy companion, providing a diverse range of convenient features and the sense of security that we all desire when it comes to safeguarding our homes. The technology used for fingerprint recognition is truly impressive and exceeds all expectations. With its top-tier security features, this product provides me with the reassurance I need to feel safe and secure in my home. What makes a real impression is the ability to unlock a variety of options through its versatility. Accessing this lock can be done through various methods, such as using a traditional key, inputting a code on the touchpad, or utilizing my fingerprint. The inclusion of remote access as a potential option makes the overall experience incredibly convenient. Its solid build quality is one of the standout features of this product. There is a strong and reliable feel to this lock. The bolt, which is extended to secure the door, adds an additional layer of security. However, it is important to note that there might be some necessary modifications to the doorframe, particularly the bolt hole, to ensure a seamless fit. What amazes me is the fact that I have been able to install this lock on three separate doors without encountering any difficulties. The significance of this lies in the fact that it is not solely about the superior security, but also about the aesthetic appeal. By incorporating these locks into the doors, a beautiful and sophisticated element is introduced, successfully combining functionality and style. Among the impressive features, one that stands out is the capability to control through Alexa using voice commands. The convenience of being able to command the lock to secure multiple doors simultaneously is just one aspect of its futuristic nature. The smart lock relies heavily on remote monitoring to ensure its effectiveness. The convenience of being able to check and control the doors from a distance is priceless, as it brings immense peace of mind to those who are away from home. In addition, when allowing access to others, this product truly demonstrates its user-friendly nature. Thanks to the streamlined process, healthcare professionals are now able to take care of patients at home, which has been a complete game-changer. The lock's battery life is worth praising, considering that it has been able to endure for nearly two years without necessitating a replacement. One of the added benefits is having smart alerts for open or improperly locked doors. Since I made the required adjustments to my doors, I have been enjoying a seamless and jam-free operation. In summary, the Eufy Security E130 Smart Lock Touch is a security solution that offers both versatility and dependability, making it an essential addition to any home for ensuring safety. The user-friendly features, durability, and reliability of this product have made a lasting impression on me, and now I can't wait to bring this peace of mind to all of my doors. ... show more

  • Almost best in class...just missing one big thing
I love eufy products and was really excited about this lock. It’s got a lot of pros, but one really big con.... Pros: -East to install -Fingerprint sensor works fairly well -Build quality is great -The thing looks great -Love the many different ways to access -The App and software features are easy to use and comprehensive Now for the BIG con: The lock doesn’t have WiFi or an adaptor for BLE (Bluetooth) to WiFi. This is a huge miss for a company that typically leads the way on smart home tech. As a result, you can not access the lock remotely to check its status, remotely lock/unlock it, or remotely add codes for guests. You’re also not able to connect it to a smart assistant (Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant), which somewhat takes the “smart” out of the lock. With WiFi connectivity you could unlock (pun intended) features like IFTTT which opens up (pun #2) a whole world of possibilities. I went ahead and bought the lock despite this because Eufy/Anker makes quality products. They have a track record of listening to feedback so I hope they make an adaptor to enable remote connectivity...if they did, this lock would be best in class. ... show more

  • Simple, strong and very easy to use.
Wow! I have to say I’ve got no ties to this company because after I start describing this smart lock you’re probably going to wonder if my review is real. It is and I can’t stop marveling at what a great job they did. Firstly the lock works seamlessly with my Eufy doorbell within the same app. I programmed two of my fingers to open the lock and it’s exactly like an iPhone. A brief finger touch to the round scanner and the bolt slides open. You may also use your numeric code (1 associated with each fingerprint stored) or open it by sliding the lock symbol down from the app on your phone. I set it to automatically lock after 5 minutes of closing and you may go shorter or not use this feature at all. I’m forgetful so I like it to relock. The key is unique with a key way elegantly hidden behind a magnetic round cover. It has the cylinder ridge (?) in the center which has got to make it even harder to be picked. Besides, with the jagged key ridge in the center of the rails of the key it means less sawing through your pockets too! You get 5 physical keys and up to 100 fingerprint/numeric code keys. Assembly is unbelievably easy. Everything has stickers with the number corresponding to which step it is used in and this hand-holding approach was much appreciated. I was replacing a lock so it didn’t need to drill any holes and was even able to leave the old (color coordinated) strike plate in the door jamb. The inner computer uses very short screws to attach to the inner plate so a little dexterity is required (as well as sharp eyes to find those little screws when you drop them ;-)). I already had the app on my phone and setting up the software was effortless. There’s a QR code (like a square barcode) you use you phone camera to register your specific lock and it worked like a charm. I’m very very pleased with everything about this handsome and solidly built product and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Easy and Solid Quality Easy and Solid Quality
I have owned two other smart deadbolt locks. One from Denmark which was a disaster and without proper US support for resolving issues, the other was an August Smartlock Pro. The August never operated to my satisfaction. It never opened the door in a timely manner so I lost trust that it would lock the door automatically. This lock design is super easy to install and has all of the necessary deadbolt hardware. That is the key. Fitting an interior facing lock with existing door lock hardware did not yield the results that I expected. This lock dies away with that problem. I also like that I can unlock with code, fingerprint, key, and Bluetooth. I use the fingerprint option the most. It is quick and I do not find myself waiting when I request an unlock with my finger. I installed the entire device in 20 min. Definitely will buy another in the future for a deferent application. Update One Year Later: This device has worked flawlessly since installation. Bonus: I just changed the batteries for the first time since installation. That’s impressive. ... show more

  • Went in quick, works every time
I trust this lock. And I'm not trusting when it comes to technology. We all rely on it, but can you really trust a $150 widget that makes the difference between a tweaker walking into your house or not? Through repeatedly using this lock and thoroughly enjoying unlocking my front door by just touching it, I have become convinced that it just works. Every time. The auto-lock is a dream come true for the forgetful. Choose the delay and after it elapses, the door just locks itself. There are a number of other bells and whistles that are in the product description. Also having a keypad though, I can share the door code with close friends and family, no longer having to get keys cut for them. Caveat: the strike plate that comes with it is fairly large and to fit it properly you may have to chisel out a large recess in your door jam for it to sit in. I didn't want to go that far for a product I didn't know I could trust yet, so I used the Schlage strike plate already installed. And it periodically jammed, resulting in a malfunction. Removing the strike plate altogether fixed this, but structurally the door lock is not as strong as it needs to be. Now, I have the confidence to go back home and bring out my chisel and make a permanent home for my Eufy strike plate. I trust this lock to keep my door locked more than I trust myself to remember to lock the door. That is a pretty big win. The build is solid, the lock tone is pleasant, and with the Eufy app there are all sorts of cool customizable options. Recommend pairing with their camera doorbell - you can manage both from within the same app. ... show more

  • Poor Quality, Disappointing Service
Let me start out by saying I have several Eufy products. I've been mostly pleased with them, and was with this one til recently. I purchased this door lock in May 2022 but didn't get it installed til early 2023 as part of a home remodel. We replaced the front door and installed this new lock. It worked perfectly til about 2 months ago. It will no longer unlock via a fingerprint, door code, or on the app. The only way you can unlock the door is by turning the deadbolt by hand or with your door key. All of the lock functions still work fine, but not the unlock. I contacted Eufy support and per their request I sent a video of the problem, sent pictures, proof of purchase and an explanation of what was happening. They were timely in their response, but basically said sorry for your luck. Here's a coupon for 20% off our products. The door lock was only working properly for about 18 months. It is protected from weather, as it is under a covered porch. To me, it should last longer than that and they should stand by their products and replace it. If I was. you, I would find another brand. ... show more
