Just installed this as soon as I could. This product advertised great holding strength for the base and magnet. It did not lie. I gave it a good pull and flex test. It would not let go. When I put my phone on the magnet it snapped directly to it and holds extremely well. I basically feels like a hard connection. It takes a good amount of effort to remove the phone.     • It's Not the Prettiest Thing, but It Works Well
It's not as aesthetically appealing as some of the other dashboard/windshield mounts out there, but it's highly functional, sturdy, and my goodness can it keep a seal, even on a rough-surfaced dashboard. The pad is more of a gel than rubber, so it's able to fill in all of the tiny contours of a leather-like surface to form solid suction. I just wouldn't mount it to a soft dash, because I think the vacuum it creates will deform the dash's material. I used to have the ESR Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (HaloLock) for my 12 pro max, however, I upgraded to a 15 pro and every time I would hit a bump, the square part of the halo lock would hit the camera bump enough for it to fall off. I ordered this one and the magnet part doesn’t rub up against the camera bump at all and stays holding! This fits perfectly! Magnet is probably too strong. Holds on smooth surfaces extremely well. It’s a very simple product designed to do a simple job at a reasonable price. I don’t really have any complaints.
