I find this very substantial, yet easy for me (age 78) to carry. It doesn't slide or "walk away" during use. Once I figured out the remote, it's easy to start and I like the program that gradually increases speed and reverses directions periodically, then slows for "cool down." Last night I did 7500 "steps" watching a basketball game. It's very quiet. Nice design, and I like the pocket for the remote. He sits in his chair, turns the tv on or plays on his phone, puts his feet on the pedals while this exerciser does all the work. The remote and buttons aren't really self explanatory so we just pushed buttons until it ended up at the speed he wanted.
