This is a great little thermometer that works until it doesn't. With both that we've owned, we've found that it has a life of about 20-30 dishwashes before water gets inside and it starts giving wild temperature readings like you're living on the face of the sun. They last like a year. We’ve had a number or cheaper thermometers get “old” fast and ruin some nice cuts of meat by not registering temp correctly so I finally just got a nicer, more expensive, easy to read one from a name cooks know well. Reads -58.0F when turned on and stays that way. Measured a roast right out of the oven at -23.0F. Clearly a faulty unit. Waiting for Escali customer service to respond. Works decent enough for home, but is just a little too wide and long to fit in several different chef coat brands. It's too long in a front coat or apron pocket to attach onto its clip holder, and falls out when bending over. Even when stuffed into my sleeve pocket it sticks out and catches on things a busy chef brushes up against. It recently got knocked out of the sheathe / sleeve and is lost somewhere in a big kitchen.
