  • Powerful and Versatile projector
Style: EF12 1080p, AndroidTV, Yamaha
This projector is exactly what I was looking for. I tried the sub $200 projectors but they were not bright enough. I tried the EF-100 and the brightness was amazing but the picture quality was not great once the screen got above 70". This EF-12 is the best of both worlds and the charry on top is that the sounds quality is quite good for the form factor. I planned to use this projector as my primary home theater display and also use it for family movie nights out in the back yard. It has been to cold and snowy outside to do the latter but the use of the projector as my home theater display has been nothing short of amazing! Pros: 1. Brightness is high enough to cut the most well lit rooms 2. 1080P quality is great for the price point 3. The speakers get quite loud with great clarity 4. the cooling fan is very quiet. 5. The auto focus is fantastic 6. the remote is bluetooth and is very responsive 7. the standby to full on is very fast Cons: 1. The throw distance is shorter than i expected for a 100" display (This is affects where you place it in the room) 2. The ceiling mount is sold separately (I have seen reviews where they got it in the box but this was not the case for me) 3. Bluetooth does not work to connect to external speaker. (Like i said the sound is good but to center the sound it would be nice to be able to connect a bluetooth soundbar or similar) 4. In very bright environments the picture does get a bit washed out. Conclusion: This was a great purchase however i would have opted for the EF11 (Same display specs without the yamaha speaker) if it were not for the sale that made the EF12 the same price as the EF11. Bottom line is the picture is fantastic and the sound for the EF12 is very good. ... show more

  • Living the dream of a home theater experience to the fullest
Style: EpiqVision Mini EF11 - New
Picture quality, compactness of equipment, low noise and heat due to a laser source (not a lamp) and most important of all, being able to adjust projected image to a rectangular area using 4 corner keystone adjustment so the projector doesn't always have to be placed center to the screen being projected were the key reasons we decided to go with this projector. It's been more than 6 months and we have been very satisfied with our purchase and using it almost everyday. We had compared the picture quality to a couple of high end Optoma projectors which had higher brightness (lumens) and allowed daylight viewing but were bulky, noisy and also needed to be positioned close to the center of the projected screen as their keystone capabilities were very basic (not as versatile as 4 point keystone). The other thing EpiqVision mini has which is not available on any projector at this price range is its medium throw capability. This allows the projected image to be around 150-180 inches from 10-12ft away and that made the Optoma's projected screen look comparatively small. Epiqvision mini also has additional zoom capability that allows you to further increase the screen size and fits the description of home theater better than others. There are 5 preset picture options. Dynamic has the most brightness, Bright Cinema is which we use more often for evening and nighttime viewing. Other options include Vivid, Cinema and standard (I think). This projector only has 1 HDMI, we are using chromecast with google TV so there isn't anything that we feel needs connected other than this. Similar devices such as roku would also work fine. We have been using netflix, prime, pluto tv, youtube, peacock etc. This projector is not as bright as the optoma 4000 lumens one but it is bright enough and works quite well with curtains pulled down during daytime and with dynamic picture setup. It also has a normal audio output jack that can be used with any speaker setup. There is also a notion of having to buy a white screen for projection. Although I purchased a screen, I am directly projecting onto our wall that is ivory in color. There is a color balancing that can be used to adjust the color based on screen/wall color. I would suggest trying that first before purchasing an additional screen because that seriously obstructs the range of throw of this equipment in my opinion. One last thing. Saw someone complaining about the mount plate so was a bit skeptical. I ordered one from audio general website although they were out of stock but received it in 2 weeks. We are using the mount and a tripod to set the projector off center, next to our nightstand and the 4 point keystone works great. Very happy with the purchase and have been living the dream of a home theater experience to the fullest. ... show more

  • Portable projector ideal for apartment settings
Style: EF12 1080p, AndroidTV, Yamaha
This projector had everything that was advertised and works really well for a small apartment. The speaker system is pretty decent and with additional bluetooth connectivity, there is the option of switching to wireless headphones. There is great portability so it makes it easy to move this unit between rooms and the installation is hassle free. The picture quality is pretty great and the viewing experience is very nice in low light conditions. The intensity is 1000 lumens and that affects viewing as one would expect in moderate to well lit viewing conditions. However, what prevents me from giving it a 5-star are the following two aspects- 1. There is no Netflix! That is a big minus as the purpose of having android TV is moot if you cannot access all apps that a conventional Fire stick or Roku device can do. Amazon Prime, Peacock, ESPN, Hulu, Disney+ all work really though. 2. A zoom function would have been really useful, as currently, the best way to adjust picture size is by adjusting throw distance. Other minor aspects- 1. Lack of lens protection 2. Keystone function is average at best This is my first projector so I don't have a lot of experience in this field, but the overall viewing experience has been better than what I had envisioned. ... show more

  • Hi quality projector
Style: EpiqVision Mini EF11 - New
I have a 7.2 surround sound system and seamlessly plugged this in. For those who lament the lack of hookups all that is need is one hdmi for this kind of setup the reciever has the rest. I love the instant start up as fast or faster then a tv. The picture is of excellent quality in every way. Epson quality is second to none. Being my third Epson I know this. At this price point $599.00 I doubt you will find anything better. Very quiet and very low heat and it's an Epson which means it will give a reliable, long service life and a very satisfying experience. You have to decide if it fits what you need, for me and my setup it does and I can highly recommend this to those with similar setups. Now back to my movie. ... show more
