The roof rack was well packed and all parts were included in the package. The one big drawback to this roof rack is the inadequate instructions on how to install it on your vehicle. The illustrations of the parts are microscopic and the details on how to install the complex washers are not helpful. It takes a bit of trial and error, but once you understand the design, the installation goes quickly. The fit and finish are very good and the installed rack looks OEM at a fraction of the cost. Be prepared to have a slow time of it installing the cross bars since there is very little room to turn the mounting screws more than a few degrees when you have to reset the wrench to get a bite. Although the rack can be installed by one person, two people working together is much more helpful. Remember to have a step-stool handy to get high enough to work on the roof area of the Mazda CX-5. I've not detected any objectionable wind noise with this rack at speeds up to 70 mph. At this point, I have not tested a load on the rack, but will likely mount a kayak in the spring and will report the result then. A design change that I suggest that would improve functionality is adding slots in the side rails to make securing loads better with devices like bungee cords or even simple ropes. A do-it-yourselfer could fix this by adding eye-bolts to the side rails or cross bars to affix straps, ropes or bungee cords, but placement would be important.

Install was pretty straight forward. The rails are such good quality. Bolts were stainless which was nice. They fit great on the CX-5. The black matches the black paint almost perfectly. No whistling or loud noises when driving on the freeway. The cross members seem like they are good quality. Some nit picky things I noticed. The bolts came with a lock washer and smaller washer. A larger washer was also provided for mounting. This created a large stack of washers that doesn’t look the best. The large washer was silver which doesn’t look great when everything else is black. But it’s easy to get black washers. The rubber provided is nice but it doesn’t sit flush with the top of the rack. Not a huge deal but something I noticed. All in all looks great. Excited to put my ski rack on. Would buy again!

Way nicer than expected. I am generally not the type to buy knock-off brands of this sort of thing, I'd rather buy quality and have it last, but I needed a rack quickly and this was the only option. I'm very impressed with the quality for the price. I have worked in both the automotive and outdoor industries, and have installed many racks for customers from both the big name rack brands, and big name auto brands. Is this rack just as good as the high end stuff? No. The fit and finish is not perfect, but it's 90-95% as good, for 25% the price. Everything went together smoothly, and the hardware all seemed to be reasonably good quality. All important pieces are nice solid metal, and the cross bars appear to be anodized not painted which was a surprise. We will see how they hold up over time but all in all, I'm definitely more than impressed considering the price.

Following the instructions was complicated, but I found a video explaining how to install the side raile , and it took me less than 25 minutes to install them. The quality is excellent, and there are no noises in the car at a speed of 70 mph. My car is 2022 Mazda CX9 ((( Update ))) I just want to share my great experience with this Amazon store. After a car accident, the repair shop lost or broke the roof rails plastic cover. I contacted the store to ask about replacements, and they kindly sent them to me for free and even covered the shipping cost. Amazing after sales service and truly appreciated support.

Style: Excellent for Mazda CX-9
Initial review, before more extensive driving experience - 5 stars: These roof rails and cross bars were purchased and installed on a 2022 Mazda CX-9 Touring with flush roof moldings (which required removal). This is an initial review after installation and short test drive with no load on the cross bars. It may be amended based in further experience in use, including corrosion etc. Pros: - Well designed and generally well made. - Good packaging, all parts received well protected. - Roof rail installation instructions quite good. - Roof rails fit roof channels very well. - Cross bars clamps fit roof rails well and cross bar length is easy to adjust. - Very little extra wind noise at 70 mph, especially if sunroof shade panel is slid shut. Cons: (relatively minor and do not warrant, in my view, dropping down from a 5 star rating) - Installation not difficult but requires installer to be mechanically inclined and experienced in similar assemblies. - The "protective film" to be installed over the 6 attachment locations per side are actually sticky rectangular pads with holes - either a design change not reflected in the instructions or a mis-translation. - The decorative plastic plugs used to cover the rail attachment holes are flimsy and easy to install deeper than at surface and difficult to pull out and fix - metal springs would work much better than the flimsy plastic legs. - Instructions for cross bar installation workable but not as clear or detailed as desired. - The "forward" direction arrows should be on the cross bar clamps as well as on their plastic covers. - The cross bar clamp covers could be a bit longer at the bottom for aesthetics. - The sunken hex key features of the cap screws used for the cross bars are soft and easy to bugger - be careful! All in all a decent kit and very good value. Recommended, if you know what you are doing and have decent tools (beyond what comes with the kit). Amended review after varied driving experience - downgraded to 1 star - not usable: Shortly after installation we started experiencing spurts of loud rattle coming from the front of the vehicle. The rattle did not seem to correlate with any particular driving condition such as acceleration, braking or turning, but seemed to occur in low to moderate speeds, not at highway speeds. It would kick in at seemingly random times, last for about 5-10 seconds, and go away. After much searching and checking for loose components we gave up and took the vehicle to our Mazda dealer. After excluding other potential causes, they zeroed in on the cross bars because they are not OEM. They first checked that they were 100% tight (they were), and then they removed them and went on another long test drive. The rattle disappeared and never came back. It may not make sense to folks not familiar with how vibrations work, but it is reality. The cross bars are flimsy and straight, not curved like the OEMs, and flutter in certain wind speeds and vehicle vibrations. When the flutter gets strong enough it excites an audible reaction in some flexible structure at the front. We have not tried driving with a load clamped onto the cross bars and suspect that it would dampen the flutter and eliminate the rattle. However it was our intention to leave the cross bars on the roof rails permanently to avoid the hassle of mounting and dismounting and to make sure they are there whenever and wherever we need them. Obviously the development of these cross bars did not include much (or almost any) road testing. We are not sure what to do now but these cross bars cannot stay on the vehicle. We rescind our initial recommendation.
