Great for baking round sourdough loaves. Perfect size for a medium round loaf. Does a great job of cooking the bread all the way through and giving it a delicious chewy crust. The key is to preheat the pan top and bottom. The enameled finish makes clean up a breeze. As with most cast iron, take care of it and it will outlast you. This bread cloche is both attractive and does the job it is intended for. My sourdough bread baked beautifully and had a wonderful crust. As with all cast iron cookware, it is heavy, which makes for even cooking but will flex your muscles.

Very good bread Dutch Oven. Bottom of the pot is nice and flat allowing it to be used on glass top range. Great seal on lid and bottom. Design is well thought out and it bakes bread evenly. The best part is it works great for using cold oven and cold start for oven bread baking. Eliminating having to add dough to a scalding hot pot. Both one other model first which did not compare to the quality of this one. All is perfect.
