High quality rope and thick to grasp. Be aware that it's a rope ladder and a certain amount of physical strength is needed to safely ascend this type of ladder, any child would have no problems, a very fat adult will not be able to use this ladder.

Quality product but it is 2ft short. These are sold as 16ft ladders. I measured from the very end of the longest rope on both sides, with the ladder stretched out on the floor. It barely measured 14ft. You are getting 2ft shorted per the 16ft length in the description. (not measured at the rungs....but at the longest part of the ropes). ... show more

    • Dangerous failure mode

The ropes seem strong, however the rungs have some issues. For each rung, a rope is spliced across connecting the two main ropes. A firm tube wraps the rope, and on each end plastic caps connect the tube to the rope. However, with some use the plastic caps can come off the tube. Then when you step on the center of the tube, instead of the weight going to the plastic caps it goes to the rope within the tube and splits the tube in half, resulting in the rung dropping until the internal rope becomes taught. Something needs to be done to make sure the plastic caps do not come off the ends of the rungs. Otherwise this ladder is not very safe. If you see your ladder has the plastic caps coming off, you can push them back on. Be careful. ... show more

After 3 months hanging outside in the sunlight, this ladder completely decayed. The individual ropes, quite thick, could be torn simply by pulling on them. I definitely would not trust this ladder if it were left outdoors for any length of time.

Not sure I trust this small width ladder in any emergency. Cheaply made if you weigh over 100 lbs I wouldn’t trust it to hold

    • Rungs/steps too far apart

I specifically bought this one because the picture showed the rungs are 12.5 inches from rung to rung (I wanted it to be kid-friendly). Well, sure, that is how it came out of the package, but after you use it for the first time, the rope stretched out and now they are 17 inches from rung to rung (18 inches if you are standing on it, which stretches them apart a little more). Other than that, I don't see any problems with the ladder, but picture the stating the rungs are 12.5 inches apart is quite deceiving. ... show more
