I don't usually write product reviews but this teeth cleaner worked well for me. I had lots of dark stains (especially on my lower front teeth) from not having visited a dentist in years. The teeth cleaner removed almost all of the staining. I was (and still am) worried that the cleaner might damage the tooth enamel so I set it on the softest of its three settings, I took my time (about 3 minutes per tooth), and I tried to be as gentle as possible. And it worked. The stains are mostly removed. As I said, I am still worried that the cleaner might damage the tooth enamel. But I hope that if I use it gently and not too often then little or no enamel damage will occur. But, at least in terms of removing stains, it worked well. ... show more

Overall I think it's a pretty solid product so far. Was easy and did a great job on removing built up stains. My only real gripe and reason for the four star rating is that the lid doesn't easily secure and frequently falls off. Other than that I believe it worked as advertised. Find the sensitivity level that's comfortable to you and go at it. For me it was definitely worth the purchase. ... show more

    • I was skeptical but pleasantly shocked how well it works!
Ok I did a lot of research before finally selecting this model and I did so primarily because of the safety feature it has where it won’t run when pressed against your gums or anything not hard. There are plenty of other models that have more features and a variety of attachments that sounded like a good idea, however, after using it I’m really glad I opted for the scraper only model as the other multi purpose models just run once you turn on and won’t shut off when you touch your gums. That could easily cause some damage to your mouth if they are anywhere close to as powerful as this device! I do not recommend any of the devices that do not have this safety protection because you will definitely touch your gums when trying to clean the hard stuff on your tooth around gum line. I could not believe how well this thing worked for reals! I don’t leave many reviews but this warrants one without a doubt! I just slowly and carefully went over the areas that had hard plaque built up, as I been lagging on flossing and haven’t been to the dentist in a few years, and I seriously got my teeth to feel as clean as they get when I leave the dentist! The key is to go slow and be patient as it didn’t just take it off in big chunks but rather seemed to slowly but effectively reduce it a little on every pass with the scraper. I was able to get everything even right up against my gums without any pain since it only starts to vibrate when it touches hard teeth and immediately shuts off when anything soft comes in contact with the tip. So far, I only used the fine tip head and got all the plaque removed from my gum line but I’m excited to try the larger head on a couple parts where I have staining from smoking. I’m sure it will remove it and I’d caution anyone to stick with the lower speeds until you are very comfortable with it. I was able to remove everything using slow and medium power levels so I haven’t even felt the strongest setting but I imagine it could really take stuff off and quick if it’s more effective than the mid level… Anyways, I highly recommend this to anyone who is brave enough to clean their own teeth and id say for cleanings going forward I am my new dental hygienist! It paid for itself in less than an hour after I got it! Totally worth the cost and although this one isn’t the cheapest, it is one that is high quality and does what it says it will do and is safe enough for folks to use at home! What more could you ask for and for less than $40!!? ... show more

Great product, safe to use and cleans very well. Of course I still need to go to the dentist, but at least I could clean visible black spots which is great. Highly recommended.

    • Beats scrubbing off tartar, with a long battery life between charges.
Hygienists have been using professional versions of this device for years to assist in scaling teeth to remove tartar via ultrasound. So far it works extremely well except for one minor item which I'll mention at the end. It is silent when you turn it on (which might lead you to think it's malfunctioning, but it's not). But when you touch the tip to your teeth/gum line, you can definitely hear the ultrasonic whine. (It's much quieter than the typical Sonicare toothbrush). A bright LED near the tip makes it easier to see what you're doing. It has three power levels, and I suggest you start out on low until you get comfortable with the process. Applying gentle pressure (at first) where you see tartar accumulating does the trick - it comes right off without scraping! It appears to be well-constructed, and the indicator for power level is clear. My only very minor gripe is that there's no obvious place to hold it while you're scaling, especially if you're trying to get to the back of your lower front teeth - a notorious place for tartar accumulation. If you grip it near the middle for balance, half the time one of your fingers or thumb will inadvertently turn off the device. Gripping it around the narrower portion closer to the tip avoids the accidental turning off problem, but it's harder to balance in your hand that way. It took a week or so of playing around with a proper hand position to get it right, but relocating the power button to the bottom, gently tapering the diameter of the unit toward the top, and adding a rubberized area to grip might help as well. Dentist said I had no plaque. The only thing that I could complain about if I was forced to is - the cap falls off to easily I wish it had a twist lock feature. I travel a lot and the top is always off.

    • works good, easy to use, worth the money
I have periodontal disease and so far this is really helping to keep the plaque to a minimum. I haven't had this long but I have used it about 3 or 4 times and it is doing the job. It is easy to use, it comes with a charging cable. I was really afraid to try it but it doesn't hurt at all. The sound is just like a dentist office though, so that may be annoying or something to get use to. For me this is great to use between dental visits. I highly recommend. ... show more
