This is wonderful but you have to plug it up to charge in the wall to get to use.

  • Update to version 2.0 improved everything I complained about before
I'll leave my review of the version 1 Sonic-Fusion below. Although I only purchased the original Sonic-Fusion about a year ago, i found that it improved by quarterly periodontal visits dramatically. Now, with the release of version 2.0 which seemed to fix the issues I had with the original unit, I felt I had to upgrade. Somewhat extravagant based on the price but -- cost per use. I happy to report that the upgrade is real. The dramatic increase in brush vibration speed (even at the lower speed setting) and the larger brush head size team up to make this much closer to my previously beloved Sonicare toothbrush. Although I didn't see it stated, it also seems that the brush has stiffer bristles, an added plus. Perhaps just because my older versio had gotten such good use, the force of the waterpik even seems better for a given setting. Can't comment on longevity issues with the unit yet but I never had problems with my version 1. This is clearly the best dental cleaning system for me now. I'm not saying that this is better than a Sonicare with separate Waterpik and actual flossing, but for me, with my poor adherence to dentist advice, this has made me brush and Waterpik floss on a very regular basis and I'm certain my check-ups will be even better with this new system. Thanks for the improvements, Waterpik. Here's my old review of version 1: This could have been great. Unfortunately, the toothbrush action is quite poor and very loud. As a longtime user of Phillips Sonicare toothbrushes and Waterpic water flossers, I'd hoped this would be a great merger of the two, taking up less space, and, more importantly, enforcing my water flossing with each brushing -- something I've not been good at sticking to. This does that but Here are the reasons for the three star rating: Pros: - Does a great job of helping me keep up with my water flossing each time I brush - The water flossing is absolutely equivalent to my much larger, free-standing Waterpic model - The controls are easy to use and allow me to brush, then floss while brushing (and you can do the water flossing alone if desired) - The whole unit takes up less space on my bathroom counter than the Sonicare and the water flosser I used to have. Cons: - The toothbrushing aspect of this is definitely subpar compared to a Phillips Sonicare. - The action of the toothbrush is quite anemic compared to the Sonicare. - The bristles of the toothbrush are quite soft as well. - On top of this, when the toothbrush is turned on it is very noisy compared with the Sonicare - The fact that "sonic" is in the name of this product is, therefore, quite misleading. - One additional problem: the lights on the toothbrush that indicate state of charge are bright white LEDs. They brightly illuminate my bathroom at night and spill into my bedroom. No more dark bedroom at night since buying this. Despite the low rating, I plan to continue using this because of the increased convenience that combining the two systems gives me. It could have been perfect but, alas, is not. ... show more

  • Bought 11/21/20 died 01/25/25
I purchased this item and had it for 1525 days and used it twice a day, which is 3050 uses. I bought it for 124 dollars. That comes out to $0.04 per use!!!! Please tell me of another household appliance you can get 3050 uses out of for 4 cents per use. My coffee pots usually last about 2.5 years, and they are the only other household appliance that gets used daily, and it only gets used once per day. ... show more

  • Would buy again
I have had this Waterpik about a year. I'm only giving this a 4 star because of the CONS: EXPENSIVE, sits out on the counter instead of in the cabinet, gets slippery when wet and the brush bands colors are only white and silver. The product comes with the small toothbrushes instead of the full sizes (poor marketing), and the buttons are in an awkward position. PROS: Our teeth and gums are much improved, we use the #7-8 setting. I bought the full size brushes and they work much better than the smaller ones. I brush my teeth for 2 minutes with toothpaste (love the position sensor), fill the water container with warm tap water and use a cap of tarter control mouthwash. I let the brushes do the job and take my time. Do this at least twice a day. I'm 68 have all of my own teeth and plan on keeping it that way. Before the Waterpik, I used an electric toothbrush and flossed twice a day and used interdental cleaners, at lunch I used a regular soft toothbrush.. My Dental Hygienist recommended this product, and I would buy it again. ... show more

  • 5 years and still going strong
I don't know why others are posting poor performance for their purchases, but I got my Fusion 5 years ago and a second for my husband 4 years ago (after developing 2 cavities at age 80) and both are working flawlessly. I highly recommend.

  • Excellent product
I bought this for a friend and she loves it. You can run the water pick and brush at the same time, but you'll wash out your toothpaste if you do that initially. You'll want to run the water pick initially by itself first. It has a lithium battery charger that automatically switches off when the batteries are charged. I still have my original wisdom teeth, so I prefer the traditional water pick because it has a smaller head tip to reach way back to the wisdom teeth. ... show more

  • It does clean and floss better
It takes a few uses to adapt to the new, smaller combined unit after the large double sized one I have been using faithfully for a few years till the rechargeable battery died. First of all the water chamber lid seemed like it was going to be problematic, but I got used to smaller size and its correct lid positioning. Then I figured out at the first try that you can't brush and water floss from the start, it washes off the toothpaste so I did those two procedures separately. I have been using the unit for over two weeks now and have established a rhythm that makes my teeth feel cleaner both with the old brush flosser unit and this unit with two separated tasks. The brushing has one speed, a faster one, I opted for the slower one on the old unit so that might be a difference. I discovered that it takes a bit of time for the flosser water to fully start while brushing so the organized brusher can use this to advantage before the toothpaste is all washed off. I now can brush and floss in the same 2 minute period and my teeth feel cleaner that the double time of the old one. I see my dentist for deep pocket antibiotic treatment in another two weeks, I think my hygienist will be pleased with my progress. ... show more
