I hate flossing. Like I super despise it. I can't floss, and I wont. I have good dental health and care besides that, so when a dentist recommended a waterpik I immediately sought it out. It was definitely worth it. The only problem is that it is VERY strong, and you need to start on the lowest setting for awhile-- especially if your gums are sensitive. But it does work and it's very effective and easy to use. The only problem is that it WILL make a mess, and needs to be refilled if you aren't careful. For this I'd recommend just using it when you're taking a shower. Would use, great for sensitive gums (buildup tolerance)! ... show more

So I purchased this battery operated Waterpik back in February 2023. Loved, Loved, it! No Problems. just recently, I had a problem with the battery matching up with the pad on the flosser. It did not work. My husband tried his mechanical tricks- nothing worked. I was ready to buy a new one, but I thought, let me contact the manufacturer. Well! what a surprise! Waterpic customer service, based in Colorodo, provided such amazing service! My gal walked me through the different stages to see if the product was compromised, and then even sent me a link to video my problem. I bought this at my dentist’s advice to take on the road so I wouldn’t have to switch back to using regular floss. It works well, operates on batteries- but it is about the same weight as my plug-in model at home, and maybe half the size. I would have preferred something a little smaller. I've always found flossing to be a chore. The sensation is unpleasant. I've never been able to habituate doing it more than a couple times a week. With the WaterPik, I now enjoy flossing. I want to floss every night, and sometimes in the morning too. It's a pleasant sensation. Combine it with a rinse of ACT high-fluoride mouthwash, and you're set. After a few weeks, I noticed that my gums were much healthier than before. The only down side is that it goes through batteries really quickly. You might want to buy rechargeable ones. Still, it's easily worthwhile. Even the most minor dental work is costly. Major dental work is horribly expensive. Flossing an extra several times a week likely saves you thousands in the long run. I bought this to replace a rechargeable water flosser I'd used for about 4 years. The name brand Waterpik inspired confidence that this product wouldn't be a dud. Pros: Good water pressure from two settings. Those of you unused to using these things may find even the lower setting a bit rough until your gums get used to it. The water reservoir is easily filled and emptied after use, so it won't turn into a bathroom science experiment. I find it drains the reservoir really fast, such that it feels like a race against the clock to get everywhere. Or, you know, you can just fill it again. Cons: It really eats batteries, rechargeables doubly so. And the water pressure falls off very quickly as the batteries lose even a little charge. This is really disappointing, as even my previous cheap flosser - which was rechargeable - had a much more even performance curve as the battery drained. ... show more

    • Easy, "deep" cleaning

Battery powered water pik makes thorough cleaning of gum and between teeth easy. Fill the unit's water tank(slightly warm is pleasant), position your mouth over the sink, insert tip between almost completely closed lips, push power button (2 settings available - slow; faster), move tip around outside and inside of upper and lower teeth, allow water in your mouth out into sink, with unit inside your mouth. When you hear the motor accelerate (tank is empty) remove tip from your mouth. I use this each morning. With a very slight learning curve, it's very easy to use. Battery powered allows you to travel with it. Hot tip(I just discovered that). Remove water tank, THEN, remove battery cover, insert fresh batteries, reattach "door" to battery compartment, THEN reinstall water tank. Easiest way !! Unit is light, easy to handle(roughened surface prevents unit from slipping out of your hand. I've used the unit for approximately 3 months. Easy, fast, thorough cleaning. I received praise from my periodontist for how the water pik has cleaned out tartar and stuff that accumulates between my teeth. She also commented that my gums were becoming pink. Affordable price.
