So far so good. The install went well except the inlet hose has a drip I cannot stop and don't want to over tighten it. I don't like the water connections at all. I like that you chose Smart life for the WIFI connection. I like that app and use it for most things in my house. The only issue so far is that I connected it to the pump and pool and after turning it on it covered my pool water with an oily film. My pool was already full. I can't empty it and wash down the pool. I am trying chemicals but I do not like that it happened in the first place. I have not had time to see how the heating works.

This review is for the 16k BTU heater. This heater is the best option on the market for somebody looking for a 120 volt pool heater. There really aren't many options out there as most heaters are 240 volts. Running a 240 volt circuit to your pool can be prohibitively expensive. So in my case I wanted 120 volt heater so I can use the outlet already next to my pool pump. I have an inground pool that's about 13,000 gallons. Most of these 120 volt heaters are meant for much smaller above ground pools. I used a heater calculator online to figure out that my pool temperature would go up about 3.5° per day with the 16,000 BTU heater. While that might not sound like much, it makes a massive difference. I live in New York so the pool season is only about 12 weeks for me. My pool will sit at 78° for weeks with the solar cover on. Using this heater, it pushed me up to 85° within about 3 days. I would have been waiting weeks for that to happen on its own. Also, it prolongs the season by a few weeks at the end. Not tow making it a better temperature. The season ended up going from 12 weeks to 18 weeks, which is a huge difference. Despite the manufacturer saying this is meant for smaller pools, you can use it on your larger inground pool if you just have patience with how long the heating takes. This option is about a TENTH of the price of the 240 volt pool heater that we were going to buy when you factor in the installation costs and the 240 volt circuit. It's a no brainer in my opinion. The connections were a concern for me but it ended up not being bad at all. They use a 1.25 inch Intex style hose connection with metal clamps. I found a 1.25 inch bilge hose that fits perfectly. They have packs of them online for pretty cheap on Amazon. I then needed to take the 1.5 inch spa PVC pipe from my pump and convert that into a 1.25 inch Intex style pipe for the heaters input. I was able to do that with a few adapters that I bought from a big box store. I added a gate valve as well as you can see in the picture. I originally started with a 27k BTU version. I think it was drawing too much current from my circuit so I switched to the 16k btu version instead. Customer service was ridiculously good too.

First thing is make sure you have all the necessary materials to get to where you can plug in your unit. I made a careless mistake and needed to get another fitting for the heater and I literally just gave up. I tried to get another one reordered and it was not possible. So if you thinking of turning back don’t wait because I am still waiting for my refund after they received it July 2.

Haven't connected yet but right out the box I found bent cooler fins. Great price and build very solid looks great other than the small issue above. Follow up: first time running the whole unit froze up Now trying to trouble shoot. FIXED: CONDENSER WAS PRESSED AGAINST FAN

We bought this large model for here in the nc mountains as we live in the woods so our pool doesn’t get a lot of sun it’s there but not much so we constantly battled cold water unless it was super hot outside and I have to say we only have a 16ft round 48” deep pool from pool factory you can look it up it’s the saltwater version so slim metal wall resin caps blah blah but we did put the insulation behind the wall because we thought it would help hold the heat we did get boy was a wrong until…. We got this heater this thing is amazing now getting it set up to your phone can be a pain the unit has to be in a good WiFi signal area we actually had to buy a booster to our internet and put it in a window of the house aimed at the pool but it works so problem solved we tryed out the water and I have to say we struggled keeping our pool above 70-72. We set this machine to 86! I know to hot for me personally but my wife loves it as she can swim all night and even in a rain storm it’s perfect this pool had not cooled down since installing this machine keeps this pool at 86 with ease in June and July and August so far 3 months but be aware of the power bill ours did go up roughly 60-70$ a month so I would assume bigger pools be aware but this machine doesn’t run much for us unless we get a cold front in the mountain but I recommend this product will do a update later at how long we can keep this pool open this year until the machine cannot keep it warm in the cooler months Be aware shipping might damage this product we had to send the first one back because the coils was smashed but the company made it right mailed me one and Amazon came and picked this one back up because it is roughly 110lbs the second one came and had a dent but where we put the machine a could live with a dent to keep from the headache of ordering again
