  • Excellent value electric radial extractor - Whisper quiet PMSM motor Excellent value electric radial extractor - Whisper quiet PMSM motor
The Trinfree electric radial extractor is a significant upgrade from a manual tangential extractor. The drum is thick walled stainless steel and measures 19” in diameter. There is a booklet with well written instructions in the box. The legs need to be assembled and are shipped in two pieces that bolt together. The leg height is adjustable and attach to the drum all the way along the side to the top edge. This makes the extractor more stable. Before installing the legs, I measured the height of a 5 gallon honey bucket with a strainer on top, so that the bucket would fit under the honey gate. You will need 13mm and 14mm wrenches for assembly. There is a standard honey gate included with the extractor. The left bolt on the honey gate should be turned with the screw head facing out, before installation. Otherwise it can’t be tightened afterwards. Included in the package are spare bolts, washers and nuts, which is really nice. There are two half circle acrylic lids in a separate carton in the package. I like that the lids are not installed with hinges, since I find it easier to lift off the lids when loading frames into the extractor. The basket is rather heavy and sturdy. There are 8 slots for medium or shallow frames in radial configuration. The top bars of the frames should face the wall of the drum when extracting. The nice thing about radial extractors is that both sides are extracted at the same time without needing to flip the frames. The basket can also hold 4 deep frames loaded in a tangential configuration. This will require extracting one side at a time and flipping the frames. Before testing the extractor, I removed the ball bearing in the bottom and cleaned the bolt cavity holding the steel ball. I added food grade grease to the bearing and re-assembled it. This extractor is powered by a whisper quiet PMSM motor (Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor) which is small, light weight and only uses 120W of power. I really like this motor. It is very smooth and the speed is regulated by turning a knob on the panel. The extractor can be spun in forward and reverse directions with the push of a small button. There is a digital display showing the rpm. The speed is maxing out at 3000 rpm, which is not needed for honey comb. It is recommended to start slowly and increase the speed after a few minutes. I tested the extractor with 8 frames of comb and it was very smooth without any wobbling at all. I use 8 frames in 10 frame Langstroth medium honey supers, so with this radial extractor I will be able to extract one super in only a few minutes without flipping frames. The reason I use 8 frames in 10 frame supers is that the bees draw the comb out past the wooden frame, making it so much easier to uncap. Uncapping takes longer than extracting. I think this electric PMSM motor radial extractor is durable and a great value at $270.00 for a backyard beekeeper, sideliner, or for a local bee club to purchase. ... show more

  • Beautiful extractor!
Pardon the pun, but this is a HONEY of a honey extractor from TRINFREE. I have gotten a lot of beekeeping woodenware from this company, so I was a bit surprised that they also offer honey extractors as well. This one is fairly lightweight, yet does not feel cheap or poorly constructed. The product came well protected and without damage to it. Assembly was a little tricky, but once you get the hang of one leg, the others follow easily. I like how the legs can be adjusted to different heights, depending on your needs. I set mine to the highest height to allow for drainage into a standard 5 gallon bucket. The middle height was just a bit too short, but if you had a 3 gallon bucket, it would work perfectly. The lowest setting would be great top keep the center of gravity low to prevent tipping or wobbling while extracting. I have not been able to harvest honey with it yet as it is too early in the season yet, but this thing has some serious power to it. At full speed it really hauls. The motor is not the smoothest at lower velocities, but it has some decent power at those higher speeds. I like the speed controller, the numbers are oddly very specific and do not mean much to me, but i guess it is good to know which speed delivers the best extraction. Disassembly is a little tricky, as it is with most of these extractors. The "L" screw brackets are tricky to line up with the center motor crossbar, while simultaneously trying to fit the axle of the frame bracket down the center. Once everything is assembled, it does work well, and is not wobbly. In fact, without a load, the machine is very well balanced, even at the highest leg height. The frame basket is interesting , as it can hold up to 12 medium honey frames at a time, or 4 deeps at once. I'm curious how it will hold up to that many frames at once. The motor seems strong enough, I guess it will depend on the weight of the frames I pull this season. Overall, this is a phenomenal extractor for the price. If you are a beginner or an experienced beekeeper, you will really enjoy using this product. ... show more

  • high honey gate, smooth operation high honey gate, smooth operation
2 people are best to assemble this. It is large and has a smooth operation. It could be bolted down to wood or (I wish) it came with rubber bottoms. I have four hives in the backyard and no dedicated space for this all year. I need to be able to use it then put it away. It has no option to lower the honey gate. It sits roughly 3/4 inches from the bottom which means I will need to tilt it to get as much honey as I can out of the honey extractor. Works well. edit- we added rubber feet and it runs quietly. ... show more

  • Solid honey extractor with expensive features at a budget price Solid honey extractor with expensive features at a budget price
This honey extractor is a backup to my much more expensive honey extractor. When I bought my original honey extractor I was afraid to buy one in this much more affordable price range because I was afraid to get one that wouldnt stand up to the use I put it through, but I feel very confident with this one. The stainless steel drum is much more solid than I thought it would be, it feels like it wont dent easily and will stand up to hard use. The motor is quiet and powerful and smoothly goes up and down in speed as you adjust the speed knob. The opening for the honey gate sits a liitle off the floor of the drum so you have to tilt it to try and get all honey out, but that seems typical in this price range. I dont like the gaskets for the honey gate, but time will tell how they do. My expensive extractors legs only go up part ways, these legs are the full length of the extractor which I like much better. Its too early in the season to extract honey so I havent been able to actually extract honey with this yet, but Im not real sure about how the medium frames get doubled up. Im sure it will do fine but I've not seen this configuration before. When spinning empty frames this extractor had very little wobble, I'm sure that will change with full frames and I will probably bolt this to a pallet, but so far I'm impressed. I love this extractor and I feel that it is a good quality build with some of the features of my much more expensive extractor but at a much better price point. I would recommend getting this extractor knowing that it is durable and will provide a lifetime of dependable use. ... show more

  • Let the honey flow!!! Let the honey flow!!!
This electric extractor is going to be fantastic for the honey harvest. It can fit either 4 deep frames or 12 honey frames at a time which will make the process go along so much faster. You’ll be able to process a full 10-frame honey super in one go! I love that the drum is stainless steel making it easier to clean and a great option if you’re plastic-conscious. The motor runs super quiet even at top speeds (pictured) and holy moly can it spin fast! It goes together and comes apart quickly and a 13mm & 14mm ratcheting socket wrench will make the assembly a breeze. It also comes with an easy to read installation guide and spare parts that I will place in my little beekeeping toolbox. I do recommend using the washers on both sides of your assembly. The paint on the legs scratches and dents really easily if you’re not careful. The price is just right for a beginner keeper who wants to be able to extract honey quickly and effectively without having to manually turn a crank. ... show more

  • Smooth, powerful, and beekeeper-friendly
This electric honey extractor is a game-changer for my hobby beekeeping. The PMSM motor runs quietly and powerfully, handling both tangential and radial modes with ease. It fits 4 deep or up to 12 medium frames comfortably. The digital controls and smooth spinning prevent comb damage. Harvesting is dramatically faster and cleaner than manual extractors. Excellent build quality and great value. If you keep bees, this is worth every penny. ... show more
