I bought this because I liked the distinctive style, with its cute round top. However, I've now used this smoker exclusively for two years, and I can attest that it has been very effective and reliable. I think it might be a little smaller than some on the market, but on several occasions when I've had a lot of work to do with the hives, and have lit and fueled it effectively, it has kept going on its own for a couple hours. At first the lid seemed really loose, but thank goodness for that: after a lot of use it gets gummed up with sticky soot, and ends up being really tight and hard to pry open! I try to scrape off the excess residue from time to time, but opening it is usually a bit challenging these days, and I sometimes use so much force I'm afraid I'm going to break off the top handle. If there were one design improvement I would recommend, it would be some type of modification that provides a bit more leverage to pry open the lid. Another thing to take note of is that the body and the bottom are HOT when it is going -- not much shielding here! -- so be careful how you carry it and where you set it down. I put square paving tiles next to each of my hives so I have a safe place to set it while I work, without risking a grass fire!

My choice of use is a bit unconventional but is great for smoking all my deer camo safely before entering the woods on a hunt to try & mask human scent. Easy to carry, transport, & use. Works well, produces plenty of smoke! :-)

I beekeep every day so I use this smoker a lot. I like the tall model which stays lit longer as there’s more volume for fuel. This model also has the cage extending to the bottom of the smoker, which makes it less likely to burn what it’s sitting on. I still have to be careful where I set the burning smoker, but it helps. The bellows so far has been sturdy, a great blowing action into the smoker, and no issues. I’ve had this item for about a year now so I’m satisfied. Smokers don’t last super long because of the high heat, but now I’m using pine needles instead of sticks and wood, so I think it makes more smoke and less high heat than wood, which hopefully will help this smoker last for a few more years. I have some issue with the top fitting on the smoker body snug, but this is normal from build up of charcoal. This needs to be scraped off in a regular basis and then it’s fine.

This smoker is a little large for my purposes and was packaged poorly. It had a couple small parts included with no explanation of their use. The price was good, it's well made, held a fire for a long time and worked perfectly.

I have used my old smoker for years and did not realize how inefficient it was until I used this new smoker. Very easy to keep the smoke going and the protecting cage keeps the hot metal from touching me or anything flammable. A quality product.

This is a quality smoker. I am happy with it. It did cost a bit more than some of the others but it is very nice solid SS and leather bellows. It works well. It came with three of the burning pellets which I think burn up sort of fast. I would like to discover a better longer lasting fuel which produces a lot of smoke. The first time I used the pellet with some sticks. I had a hard time keeping it going once the pellet was burned it seemed to go out frequently. The second time I used pine shavings. I watched a you tube and the man said he used shavings from his planer. The pine shavings worked EXCELLENT lots of smoke, long burning but is was pretty dirty. There was a lot of sap residue on the inside of the unit. I cleaned it by putting a small amount of ammonia - came clean as new. I don't want to fubar it up so I am going to continue to try a few other fuels. One person said they use a piece of old denim - I have not tried that. Only burned it 2x so far. Very quality even if it is made in China. I would buy this again.
