We are mostly using this to cut firewood for our fire pit, so there is not a lot of heavy duty cutting going on. My husband's first impression was how lightweight it is, so naturally he questioned how well it was going to work. He first tried it on a log that was about 10 inches in diameter, and it worked just fine. He was able to quickly get through all of the smaller logs in our pile, and did not suffer from any pain in his shoulders or arms. The media could not be loaded. This is a great and powerful electric chainsaw. I have owned gas powered chainsaws in the past and they may be good for some jobs but this electric chainsaw by Badger is perfect for what I need. It’s not any heavier than gas powered chainsaws, but it may be more powerful. It cuts through 3” to 4” branches in just about 2 or 3 seconds. You can see on my video. It has an oil reservoir to automatically oil the chain itself saving you from having to do it manually. It comes with a powerful 20-volt 4-amp battery, chain protector and charger. It does have the front hand guard so if it “kicks back” it will shut down, preventing injury. This is not the chainsaw you want for cutting down 50 trees in the forest, but it perfect for the smaller jobs. I highly recommend this chainsaw from Badger. ... show more

This is powerful for an electric rechargeable chainsaw. It works great for removing branches and things. We haven't tried it on any big cutting down a whole tree projects - but in those cases, I think I would go with a heavier duty device.
