This seemed like such a good idea for a can opener. And maybe it is, but I wouldn't know because I have pressed down with my thumbs and pulled down on the bottom cover until I am exhausted, and I can't get the %$!&# thing to open so I can put batteries in!! I have left a question on the reviews section: can anybody tell me how to open this? Please? I don't like to return it for a replacement because the same thing might happen again. For all I know, though, mine is broken and that's why it won't open. I was looking forward to having a light-weight, easy-to-operate can opener and getting rid of the clunky old counter-top model. I read the manual, installed the batteries, placed it on top of a can, and…nothing. I opened it to ensure that the batteries were installed correctly, even opened a different pack of batteries and replaced…still nothing. I returned the opener for a refund…no problem there.
