Look: I know it's dumb to spend over $100 on a trash can, but you are clearly considering buying it. Otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this review. This is a judgement free zone. With that out of the way: I love this trash can. I love it so much, I went out of my way to buy it twice. I bought an older model of this exact trash can at Costco about 6 years ago (much more reasonably priced at about $50 at the time, good luck finding it at that price now). When it started to die, I bought a Simple Human sensor-trash can. I hated that trash can. So I gave it to a friend, and then spent too much money on a different EKO trash can (EKO Mirage-T 50 Liter), and I hated that it didn't have a full liner. So here I am, 3 trash cans purchased for a comical amount of money, and I can say I am very satisfied with my purchase. Here are the biggest differentiators for me: + I love that there is a full liner in the trash can. It makes it super easy to change the bag/deal with very heavy items. It is also easier to keep clean in case there are leaks/holes in the bag. + I love the sensor. It works perfectly for me. + I love the size of the lid opening; in this newer model, the opening and the actual size of the bag opening are almost identical (old model had a smaller bag opening than the lid.) + It's a great size and shape for my kitchen. + It takes regular batteries. I don't have to keep my trash can plugged in. I don't need to have a special charger than I have to keep around in my junk drawer. I don't have to worry about charging my trash can. The batteries last a long time.

Purchased the trash can less than 3 months ago. Worked fine for the first month although the sensor seems a bit sensitive. After 1 month was up the phantom triggers started happening. The trash can would randomly open when no one was there. It would then stay open thinking something is keeping it open. Cleaning the sensor and lid doesn’t fix the issue. Only way it seems to fix it temporarily is turning the lid off leaving it off for a while and then back on. However only works for less than an hour then the lid would randomly open again. Contacted support opened a ticket 2 weeks ago, sent video evidence and no responses or follow ups. Very disappointed with the purchase as this was our second eko trash can. The first one lasted years. This one is not as well built and feels cheap for what was paid. Avoid.

EDIT: One year later, and I ended up deciding to order another one of these after my first mishap... I'm really pleased with this product. I've only had to change the batteries one time, I get a lot of complements on it, and it continues to work very well. Honestly, don't know what happened the first time. I guess I just got unlucky, can't get it out of my head though. If that had never happened, this would be a 5 star product! Previous review: I really wanted this product to work, and right when I unboxed it and set it up, it seemed like it was going to be amazing. I put in the batteries, set it all up, and the motion detection was awesome! I was very excited. Then I put the battery cover on and it immediately stopped working. No motion detection, no opening, no nothing. I opened the battery cover to discover that it had completely short circuited and melted all the plastic through the control unit in the lid. Very unpleasant and quite scary. Maybe I would try it again... but I'm nervous to do that now... seems like it could be a fire hazard. I made sure the batteries were all properly aligned with the correct polarity, so this was definitely just a defective unit. Amazon issued me a refund, going through support with the company seemed like it would be challenging. At least the refund came quickly! Too bad... I can't recommend trying this product.

I’m really happy with the Mirage-X 47L Touchless Motion Sensor Trash Can. The motion detection is fast and reliable—the lid pops open with a quick wave and closes smoothly and quietly, sealing in odors well. It feels sturdy and stable, and the brushed stainless finish looks clean and modern while being easy to wipe down; fingerprints haven’t been a big issue. Color-wise, the brushed steel fits nicely with my kitchen. My only hiccup was the sample bags: the can uses Code Z, but it arrived with Code F, which made bag changes tricky at first. I reached out to customer service and they sent the correct trial pack right away—Code Z fits perfectly. Overall, it’s a sleek, dependable can that’s easy to clean and keeps scents under control, and I appreciate that the company took care of the bag issue quickly.

We love this trash can! Works smooth and quietly. I ordered this one because it had a full can liner inside. Our discount kitchen size liners tear when we stretch them on, but it does come with EKO liners that are tough. Bought Glad flex liners and they work great. Very pleased with this product!
