This is a serious weed whacker. I've had a 17in and 16in gas trimmer in the past and I don't remember them being so powerful. I bought this to dig out a 20 foot sidewalk that has been almost covered in turf. This worked nicely. The only reason this wouldn't work for you is if you had a lawn business and you couldn't stop to recharge the battery, but then again if you had more than one battery it would be fine. It does have some weight to it and it probably is too much trimmer for a lot of homeowners who just need to trim around a couple of trees and the AC unit. This string trimmer is powerful enough for my needs around the yard. I'm talking about those areas around a fence, stone wall, mail box, utility pole, walkways, etc. You will be impressed with the raw power and ease of use. It is a little on the heavy side but if you are of average build you shouldn't have any issues. The battery will recharge in about 45 minutes but will last me through two uses. This is my third EGO weed eater, I've tried other brands but non of the others had enough power. I gave my son the oldest (purchased in 2018), it works fine but it's a little more difficult to wind the string unlike the new power heads. The second I gave to my dad because he has gotten to the point that the heavy gas weed eater is too heavy for him. I kept this one for myself because it has the power head and I like the telescope arm because I'm vertically challenged. As a side note, if you're concerned about weight keep the size of the battery lower, I'm partial to the 2.5ah, yes you may need to buy two batteries but it's better than having two arms that hurt. I use the larger 4ah EGO batteries for small projects like the blower. ... show more

It’s not often that a product’s performance actually lives up to the hype but the Ego 56V string trimmer is the rare exception. The battery life is excellent and after 35 minutes on high I still had three bars left. I have given my F38 to my son and will be ordering their 200 mph 56V yard blower. Good job Ego. ... show more
