The first battery powered mower I have ever purchased and the best mower I have ever purchased! I have just under an acre and the 10Ah battery just about does it all with the power switch setting on one and all within about 60 minutes or so. It is quiet, incredibly powerful and the aluminum deck surprised me with its sturdy construction. The lawn cut far exceeded my expectations, it looks beautiful. Nearly completely assembled in the shipping box and very easy to use. No more gas, and noise to contend with and your neighbors will love you for the latter! I would definitely opt for purchasing the bundle - two batteries and charger and keep an eye out for price deals, they can be had. ... show more

I was hesitant to move from my gas mower to electric, but am so glad I made the change. My Ego mower has plenty of power for my bermuda grass lawn, and the battery lasts more than long enough for my sizeable lawn. It has good vacuum power for picking up leaves and debris, and does an excellent job mulching live oak leaves, which are tough to mulch. Great! That’s all I NEED to say, but I’ll say more. Straight off the top - this thing eats grass! The cut is outstanding. It leaves a beautiful top on the lawn. My grass was extremely overgrown due to continuous rain, a broken lawnmower and the wait for this baby to arrive and I’ve got nearly an acre worth of it to take down. I expected hours of back and forth, tedious work to get it down, but no…this thing had its own plan - one pass was enough. Seriously. I pushed the self-propel button and it freakin’ went. One pass. Not a bog down or stall to be had. It worked so well, if I needed more of these I’d buy them. I get that some ppl have complained/had a distaste for the “whine” of the self-propel, it can sound more like your racing radio controlled cars then cutting the grass. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. Not calling names, but maybe they’re a little too old or set in their ways to get it and they’re addicted to the loud, smelly, ecologically-unsound ways of doing things. It’s actually dramatically quieter than a gas mower - put some earbuds in. Quality! I got the aluminum deck. It’s durable, not a toy, it feels like it has a long life and with the way they’ve made it so that when the wearable/replaceable parts are in need that will be an easy process. It is essentially ready to go outta the box, but please take the time to read you owner’s manual and learn all about it, how to take care of it, how to store and clean it and I think it’s gonna last a very long time. ... show more

I waited almost a year to write this review to really put this mower through its faces. We have probably an acre to acre and a half of grass and I use my mowers to mow weeds seasonally outside of that. The electric motor is stronger than any gas motor I've owned. Metal mower deck offset my concerns about having a plastic deck, and it's held up fine. I did brake a front wheel which was easy to find and replacement for, but of course I had to pay for it plus shipping. I'll say it broke much easier than it should have. That's a design flaw. The batteries on all EGO products last for a very long time. Most of mine are several years old and still going strong. Am I going to give up my gas mowers? No. I also wouldn't only own an electric car for all the same reasons. But overall the mower performs better than I expected. ... show more

I purchased this item in late August of 2024 (on sale) and used it through December of the same year without mechanical issue. There are three speed settings for the blade rotation and multiple self-propelled settings (from a slow crawl to almost jogging). I have two EGO 10Ah batteries, and the mower requires both to complete my half-acre of grass cutting (at the highest speed and with limited use of self-propelled when progressing uphill). I love the fact that I no longer have to purchase gasoline, change oil, or replace cheaply produced plastic carburetors found on most new lawn mowers. One of the downsides is the mower's overall weight, which is made of aluminum. At age 67, I try to push the mower without the assistance of the self-propelled feature strictly for exercise purposes. There are times, however, due to the various inclines of my yard, the self-propelled feature is needed as the weight becomes too much for me to move the mower uphill. The second issue I found is that the EGO brand electric lawn blades are not as heavy as their gas-powered counterparts. My experience is that the thinner blades became dull quicker, leading to more uncut blades of grass in the areas over time. I had to make a second pass to knock down those areas, leading to more time spent mowing the yard. I was always able to get one cutting season in the books (March-November) without having to resharpen gas-powered blades (50-plus years). And finally, I find the biggest drawback is the price of new batteries. Fortunately for me, I got two batteries and a charger with the purchase. I have read reviews in which other EGO batteries have gone bad before the warranty period expires and they received little or no assistance from EGO in resolving the warranty issues. Because I am still in my first year of ownership, I have not needed the services of EGO for any warranty issues. The batteries have warranties of 3-5 years. However, as currently priced, the EGO 10.0 Ah batteries run $500.00 each on Amazon. I do not believe the cost of a new gas mower, coupled with gas, oil, new blades (or sharpened ones), and tune-ups, would cost upwards of 1000.00 every five years. That is the minimum price I will have to pay to replace both EGO batteries once they stop working. In short, I love the convenience of using electric products without the hassles associated with the use of gas mowers. As for the cost, you will pay a lot more for said convenience. I have no idea how well those "hard plastic shell" models hold up over time and I would recommend the aluminum model just due to its durability (very heavy and sturdy design). ... show more

It cuts off with any thickness of grass or if there is the tiniest bump in the ground. Will not cut thicknor long grass at all. Has very little torque. Literally cuts off over a hundred times while trying to cut my tiny yard.
