Goes through holly bushes and hedges like a hot knife through butter. The ability to rotate the angle of the blade is a nice feature. I keep the blades lubed with spray oil while I'm using it. Battery run time is fine for my use as a homeowner. I can do what I need to on a single charge. It's a little heavy after using it for a while, but I think most able bodied people will be able to handle it. I love my ego blower and string trimmer. Excellent , well made tool. Light and very maneuverable. I bought this because I have several EGO tools, so no extra battery needed. Long enough for any trimming chore. Can handle small branches with ease.

    • EXCELLENT REPLACEMENT FOR CORDED TRIMMER
Bought this to replace a cheap corded trimmer and couldn't be happier. I already owned two other EGO tools (blower & trimmer) and I'm trying to make life easier by going cordless for quick jobs. I have gas tools which work great except for my gas blower as my EGO outperforms my gas blower (Echo Backpack style) without the need to deal with gas and mixture. I would say the EGO Hedge Trimmer is not nearly as powerful as my gas operated hedge trimmer but gets the job done with ease and is multiple times better than my old corded model. Battery life on the hedge trimmer is fantastic as I trimmed about 12 bushes with my 5.0 Ah battery and when done the battery still showed full charge. The ability to change the orientation of the blades are a plus and makes trimming quicker and more precise. The trimmer had no problem trimming boxwoods and other bushes and never stuttered once. Safety features of the unit ensure your hands are correctly positioned to avoid accidental activation. So far all of my EGO products have been money well spent and appear to last. There are cheaper products on the market but in my experience the EGO Products are very comparable to gas operated tools and you get what you pay for. ... show more

    • It’s a beast!
Great tool for the gardening chores. No electric cord to worry about. Just grab the tool and pop in the battery. The long wand makes it very easy to trim shrubs. Cuts just about anything. It’s a little heavy but manageable. Comes with a nice blade guard to cover the blade when stored.

This trimmer does an excellent job, providing a nice, clean cut on my evergreen bushes. The tilting blade is a huge benefit for doing that. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's a bit heavy, and after prolonged use starts wearing out your arms (if you're not the athletic type like me). ... show more

I brought the EGO Power+ HT2500 25" Cordless Electric Double Sided Hedge Trimmer with the 2.5ah Battery. The hedge trimmer previous brought 2.5ah battery fit perfectly. Unit was a bit heavier than I thought especially when the battery was added but the trimmer is a beast. First time out it we t through an overgrown thorn brush with no problems. The small shrubs was a breeze too. A lot of trimmer for the amount of shrubs in yard but a good purchase. Purchase over the HT2600 due to the 2 speed range selector. After using the Sleeve gets hung up on bolts in blade and heavy was my only dislikes but could have put a hole in end like the HT2600 26” to hang the trimmer up for storage. Wanted the HT2400 but it had recall and this trimmer had least negative reviews. Would highly recommend this trimmer and glad I purchased it ... show more

Ego puts out another winner. I bought this because a landscape company wanted to charge me around the same price as this tool. I decided to go with the new tool instead. I find myself trimming my hedges and bushes more frequently because it's so easy to slap in a battery, trim for a few minutes and clean up. I especially like the ability to tilt the head of the unit. That makes trimming round bushes to much easier. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a hedge trimmer. ... show more

Nicely made; like all EGO tools. However; this seems to shut off in the middle of trimming. And no; it is not jammed. I am going to get a service number from EGO; and have it looked at by my local service center. Because it shuts off for no reason; I haven't been able to find out how much more powerful it SHOULD be.
