The trimmer works well and is easy to handle. The battery life is very good and exceeds my expectations. One negative: Initial assembly was a challenge for me. The unit requires assembling a guard and a handle. Both of these jobs are very simple except for the nonstandard screws provided. I have a couple of dozen screwdrivers but found the handle required a "star" shape screwdriver head, which I happened to have. I never found a screwdriver that worked with the guard screws. Finally used pliers to remove and replace the screws. I was surprised that Craftsman did not use a standard Phillips head screw. But since this is a one-time job it would not prevent me from purchasing the same item in the future. ... show more

Works exactly what I bought it for and I got in for 30 cheaper then on sale price at Lowes. Not that I don't like Lowes, I shop there all the time. But it was on sale for 129 from 149. Amazon normal price wins. Okay, I obviously unwrapped it as soon as I got it and completed the simple assembly. I then charged to for at least 24 hours. Then I put it to work on my shrubs that needed trimming. I was done in about 15 minutes. My branches were anywhere for 1/4" up to about 3/4". It cut thru everything like butter. I then place on its handy hook and used it again a couple days later. I have a clearing behind my house where new bush sprouts are popping up all over the place all the time. They're only maybe 8-10" tall and 1/4" diameter. The area is probably 150" wide x 80" depth. I usually use roundup to keep that area cleaned and let the pine needles do the decorating. I like it raw but without new growth. Anyway, I used this very lightweight trimmer for maybe another 30 minutes and did not notice any battery loss. This time I got a lot of sap on the blades with tarnished the stainless steel. I just washed it off and put it back in storage for next time. I have a Sthel gas edger, trimmer, and blower. The trimer finally would not start after 16 years of use so I bought this one. I getting older and did not want another big, heavy, gas yard tool. I recommend this product if you have medium to light hedges trimming needs. ... show more

OK performance/quality for the price. Battery is just barely big enough to outlast my stamina (I'm an old fart). Young bucks will find the battery won't hold an adequate charge (have another in your hip pocket). Power wise, e.g., what it'll cut, is fine but the cycle speed could be a bit higher IMHO. The saw on the end looked pretty clever but is marginally effective and gets in the way when trimming close to the ground or adjacent stuff. Now I wish it didn't have the saw. But all-in-all, the unit is OK for the casual user and it does what Craftsman says it'll do. ... show more
