    • Great trimmer - lightweight but powerful
Style: 26" w/2.5Ah Battery
this is a terrific hedge trimmer. I previously owned a gasoline powered trimmer but got tired of dealing with a carburetor issue whenever I needed it. That and the fact that it was heavy and with all the use that I gave to the trimmer, it wore you out by the time you were down cutting a significant number of ornamental grasses and hedges. This trimmer is incredibly light weight. And I do mean light weight. Compared to the gasoline powered trimmer, it feels like it is at least half the weight, if not even more than that. The carbon rail makes quite a difference. It has a surprising amount of power for a battery powered machine and easily cut everything I needed to cut including some hedge branches that were around 1/2" - 5/8" in diameter. If I am going to cut anything larger than that, I generally will use lopping shears or even a chain saw depending on their thickness but for most folks doing general pruning and trimming of ornamental grasses and hedges and shrubs, this thing is a winner! The only thing I could suggest as a minor drawback is that I believe the blade could be even sharper than it already is from the manufacturer. Out of the box it cuts just fine, but I like to keep my trimmers very, very sharp as they cut cleaner. The blade assembly is easy to sharpen however and there are instructions included with the trimmer as to how to do this. I went over mine with a small file and it is now definitely sharp. for the price, I believe this a good value and I am quite pleased with it! ... show more

    • Effective as advertised, battery life very good.

Battery life is excellent. Cutting is as advertised. I used on a large old-growth lilac hedge after cutting out bigger limbs with a chainsaw. The weight is well distributed for control and lower fatigue. It cut cleanly and only had minor slowdowns with green growth nearing the upper cutting size limit. After cutting two 6x10 stacked trailer loads of branches, very little wear to the sharpness of the teeth. While not yet needing to do so, sharpening will be a straightforward activity. I re-oiled the bar and teeth as instructions rightly insist. While I did the cutting in two sessions and charged the battery between, it would have completed the two trailer loads using no more than half a charge. ... show more

Great hedge trimmer. I upgraded from a 20” black and decker to this 26” Ego trimmer and it was worth it. It has a big 56V battery that lasts along time. It cut through a dozen big Montauck daises with ease. It didn’t feel heavy at all. It’s much lighter than the gas powered Echo trimmer that I used to rent to trim the tall hedges on my property. ... show more
