The adjustability is so helpful!! Makes it really easy to use and reduces hand & arm fatigue. Long lasting battery. It's new so it's cutting its sharp and equipment is tight. We will see how it is next year.

So before making the switch to EGO I had Husquavarna for evreything, love it, did not love trying to start them at the beginning of each season. I was scared of going electric because of the power I thought I would lose. Spoiler: not only did I not lose power but probably had more. Runs through thick hedges like butter. And the weight! sooo much lighter, you don't burn your arms after 10 min. so worth a buy!!!

I didn't get this hedge trimmer to trim hedges (I only have a handful of small manicured boxwoods, for which this or any power trimmer would be excessive). I got this for quickly clearing thick brush and brambles, and for slicing through the invasive vines that have covered half of the trees where I live. And for this is is _amazing_. Cuts through most vines, shrubs, and small trees with ease. Slices through softer weeds and brush like they aren't even there. I can clear an overgrown area in minutes, whether to take down an unhealthy tree or get access to one which can still be saved in order to clean the vines away. The battery dies a little quickly when used this way - but since the system is all interchangeable I can switch in the larger one that came with my chainsaw and keep going while the first one charges. All in all, it's well built and up for anything you'd sanely do with a trimmer instead of a saw or some long-handled loppers. It's certainly not like the weak, easily-jammed, low-capacity hedge trimmers I used to use when doing landscaping work in my teens. It also doesn't weigh much for its size. Most of the weight it does have is in the battery, near your hand, and it is nearly vibration-free - so it's not tiring to use. The one thing I wish was different about it would be the availability of a guard which extends a bit beyond the cutting edges and closes in with rounded tips so you couldn't easily fit large branches/objects into the cutting zone. So long as you're working alone and haven't done something irresponsible like taping one of the handles down, you don't have to worry about your fingers - this trimmer won't run without both hands where they're supposed to be, and it stops practically instantly when you let go. And there's no cord to worry about severing. But it can still easily cut things you didn't want to cut if you aren't paying close attention to whole length of the blade. And I have on one occasion let it make contact with my leg - where it sliced right through my pants and into my thigh, leaving a long, shallow cut (which happily didn't hurt much because the blades were so sharp). Given its cutting ability, I could see that going worse if you tripped onto it without letting go of the handles or otherwise had some pressure on the blade instead of just grazing yourself with it. Personally, my takeaway was just to be more careful and treat this tool with the same kind of respect as I give to knives, axes, and powered saws. But if I ever were to be a landscaper or homeowner using this for its actual named purpose of routine "hedge trimming", I'd like the option of attaching a finer-toothed extra guard to enjoy the long cutting edge and high speed of this trimmer with a bit more of a safety margin in terms of both injury and risk of accidentally cutting into or through the main branches of whatever I'm trimming - while still being able to remove that extra guard for the occasional tougher job.

The Ego hedge trimmer is everything I needed to trim shrubs, evergreens and bushes like azaleas. The trimmer is very powerful but it is heavier than my previous Black and Decker. The Ego cut nonstop where my other trimers just could not manage. The battery makes the unit heavier but is well balanced
