I already had battery powered Ryobi tools so I like that I could purchase this without a battery and charger to save money. It was packaged securely in an official Ryobi box and arrived in great condition. I put one of my batteries into the trimming tool and was off to the races. It was so satisfying to see how quickly the hedge trimmer attachment took care of the over growth in my backyard. Like other commented it can't cut anything too think but worked great for my needs. Tool is also lightweight which also made it easy to use. I haven't yet used the grass attachment just yet so I can't comment on it but I bought this for the hedge attachment. The Ryobi grass clippers that were originally sent didn't. The switch didn't function. This was replaced very quickly by Amazon and the second clippers are working fine.

Previously purchased another brands version that look good. Upon receipt was very disappointed starting with the feel of the plastic and greatly disappointed in the cheap quality of the blades and the inability to trim even the thinnest of shrubs. Right out of the box you could tell this Ryobi was a quality product both in the feel of the grip and in the thickness and quality of the blades. This is a great little gadget if you're already in the Ryobi 18v tool family. This is great for trimming around very tight spaces (backyard lighting fixtures) that the mower cant get too. I was using a string trimmer, but the string will tear things up (like a plastic fence). Though this takes a little more effort (including bending down), it really is a more precise way of trimming. As for the tree branch attachment, that works very well - used it this weekend with good results. ... show more
