The EGO POWER+ 16” Chain Saw features an advanced, high-efficiency brushless motor that delivers power equivalent to a 40CC gas chainsaw without the noise, fuss, or fumes. Powered by any EGO POWER+ 56V ARC Lithium™ battery, this cordless chainsaw delivers up to 130 cuts on a 4x4 when used with the included 2.5Ah ARC Lithium™ battery. The chainsaw features a tool-free chain tensioning system that allows fast, easy bar and chain adjustments through independent dials. These low-profile dials also allow the electric chainsaw to cut flush to the ground. Its 16-inch bar and chain with 20m/s chain speed delivers clean, efficient cuts while its automatic oiling system keeps the saw lubricated throughout the cutting process. I've been converting from gas powered tools to battery powered mainly because it's getting too hard to start my two-cycle tools (edger, trimmer, hedge trimmer, blower). I haven't been let down yet. Lot's of power. Battery life isn't a problem because I can only use one tool at a time but I've purchased tools with batteries so I now have 4 fully charged batteries before starting any job. The smaller 2.5mh batteries may not last as long but they are so much lighter that usage vs weight balance out. Also EGO warranty support has been great. I had a blower that stopped working and EGO sent me a replacement. That locked EGO in as my go to lawn tool tool. This chainsaw is a beast and has easily cut down anything I have chosen to tackle. Only one problem: It did not come with bar oil so make sure you purchase a bottle of that. Fortunately I had bar oil from my gas powered chainsaw and ChatGPT said bar oil is bar oil so I was able to use that. You can also search around for the cheapest price. I got my EGO 16" chain saw at the lowest price I'd seen and $40 less than Ace Hardware or Lowes. Unfortunately it had a 10 day delivery time but for the savings, that was worth it for me. Then to my surprise it was delivered in 3 days!! Another bonus from that specific seller.

Perfect for branch and small tree cleanup at the cabin. Quiet and efficient. Plenty of power with even the 2.5 AH battery, but I've used it with the 5 AH as well. Really like the automatic oiler and the reservoir - unlike my other gas chainsaws, this one doesn't leak oil wherever you set it. I did not expect it to work as well as it did.

Impressive!
Style: 16" w/2.5Ah Battery
I've had a lot of battery tools over the years but I've stayed away from outdoor equipment because I'm even tougher on and more demanding of outdoor equipment than I am my shop tools. A while ago I did get a 6" battery chainsaw, a cheap knockoff, and I was impressed with it. It was so easy to use and it was so useful! Then my 16" Stihl chainsaw died and I was forced to make a choice, electric or gas to replace it. I have a 20" & 28" gas saw for heavy cutting. This is my light duty saw, it's for limbs, small trees, yard cleanup. While it never sees the hardest use, it's the saw I'm most likely to grab for some quick project. While I was skeptical, the reviews both on Amazon and the rest of the internet, had me believing this EGO Power+ CS1611 might be the right choice. Turns out it definitely is the right choice. I had a small tree (about 25 ft tall, 12" diameter) fall over a few days before the saw came. I charged up the battery overnight and got to work in the morning. This saw was every bit as good as my Stihl and in many ways better. It's compact, light-weight, and much quieter. More importantly, it cuts fast. As fast as any small gas chainsaw I've ever had previously. It's well-balanced, the dogs work well, and the no tool chain tensioning is great. I thought the thing I was going to like most about this chainsaw was going to be starting it. Small gas chainsaws are ALWAYS a pain to start, even when they're broken in and perfectly tuned. I was wrong, although just pressing a button to start it is wonderful. Turns out the thing I love best about this saw is the lack of vibration. I've gotten old enough that the vibration of a chainsaw will leave my wrists, elbows, and shoulders sore after even a fairly short bit of use. I cut up the entire tree and the next day there was no soreness because there's almost no vibration. So if you're older, this saw is much easier on your joints. As far as battery life, I'd say that the included 2.5Ah battery is about equivalent to a 1/2 tank of gas in my old Stihl 16". I did the whole tree on one battery but the battery was done at the end. I've already got a 2nd battery and I think if I run through both batteries my body will be done even if the work isn't. So, if you're looking for a great, small, chainsaw and you're on the fence between gas and battery, get off the fence. This is the saw to get!

Excellent chainsaw

What a joy to use. Easy to setup. Just needed to charge and add chain oil. Excellent performance. Cut thru 6-10" branches and 4x4s without any problems. Lightweight. No fussing with gas or pull starts.

It won't replace a gas saw for someone doing real work; but for a camping saw, general sporadic use around a homestead, an emergency ready tool, etc. It's very good. Battery lasts longer than I would have thought, I'm using the 2.5 ah unit and was pleasantly surprised. Charges the battery pretty wuickly as well. Power is pretty good. Pleasantly quiet. You can use it when a gas saw would definitely be inappropriate, such as at a campground when there's someone camping next to you. Oiler is very frugal. I actually wish it oiled a bit more for peace of mind, but bar and chain are holding up fine so far. Make sure you get the new version with the metal dogs and better switchgear and handle. I handled the old version locally and there is a visible and tactile difference. Update: Very susceptible to performance loss in cold weather. It was basically unusable on a camping trip where overnight Temps got into the low to mid 20s (F).

Excellent chainsaw for smaller jobs.

Loved this chain saw. I had so much of small trees and logs I wanted cut and my husband wasn't getting to it. First order just chainsaw and I was able to get the work done in one weekend and I'm so pleased. The battery lasts as long as my body will (I am 68) so it is perfect for the jobs I want to do.

Fantastic Early Impressions

My Oregon wired electric chainsaw failed within just a few light uses and it was returned under warranty. I was skeptical about the Ego unit, but being I did not want a gasoline chainsaw, I decided to splurge on this one. Recently I got a chance to use it for the first time when a decent size tree fell across my driveway. I must say that this saw was impressive. I was able to cut the tree for firewood and I must have made 80-100 cuts of 4-6" logs on a single charge with power remaining. Pretty impressive! The saw never felt like it was struggling, unlike my Oregon electric one that was bogging all the time. I'm a believer and I may consider other Ego products when needed.

Can't stand electric....HOWEVER.....

Can't stand electric........especially electric cars....however wife no longer lets me use heavy powerful gas powered chain saws so I bought this one. Surprised how easy it is to use. Light weight and simple , perfect for my residential yard and various other jobs. Handled tree in photo ( did need an extra charge as expected) ...I would highly recommend for this price.
