The EGO POWER+ 16” Chain Saw features an advanced, high-efficiency brushless motor that delivers power equivalent to a 40CC gas chainsaw without the noise, fuss, or fumes. Powered by any EGO POWER+ 56V ARC Lithium™ battery, this cordless chainsaw delivers up to 130 cuts on a 4x4 when used with the recommended 2.5Ah ARC Lithium™ battery (available separately). The chainsaw features a tool-free chain tensioning system that allows fast, easy bar and chain adjustments through independent dials. These low-profile dials also allow the electric chainsaw to cut flush to the ground. Its 16-inch bar and chain with 20m/s chain speed delivers clean, efficient cuts while its automatic oiling system keeps the saw lubricated throughout the cutting process. For added control and safety, the saw is equipped with robust metal bucking spikes and kickback brake with an easy-to-see brake position indicator. I’m really impressed with how well this chainsaw performs. I own a 16” Stihl chainsaw that I’ve used for over 20 years and thought it wouldn’t be possible for an electric saw to be so comparable. The ego 16” has such impressive power and speed even through hardwoods. I was skeptical at first, but this saw did not disappoint. It’s really nice to use this saw in the backyard to make quick work of any wood cutting you may encounter. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this saw in the woods neither.. The battery life is really good and it is up to the task of any big wood cutting project. As a long time gas chainsaw user I would highly recommend this EGO saw for anyone looking to try out the electric version. I really like the fact you don’t have to worry about mixing oil and gas and then having to use fuel stabilizers for unused gas. I do love the sound of a roaring gas saw ripping through trees, but you know technology keeps evolving and our planet is better off for it. I’ll stop there before I upset anyone. The battery lasts quite a while. Great price. Chain adjustment is super easy. The only thing I dont like which seems to be a problem with all electric chain saws is the bar oil container leaks pretty bad. when sitting.

does a great job cutting medium, size trees. very light and easy to use. so far the battery life is acceptable, but may have to get a longer lasting one later when I really get to cutting wood. Chain oil filler cap is a pain but the chain tensioning. system is great. it's not a gas chainsaw, but for what it is, in this old man's hands is great. ... show more

I LOVE EGO products, and this is no exception. It works well for cutting up logs 6" or less. But if you are cutting larger things, there is no substitute for gas power. It is quiet, and works even better with a larger battery for more power, and also for better balance, else it can be too light. This is the newer model where the teeth at the body end of the bar are steel, and not a plastic. It still required bar oil, and I use the EGO branded bar oil from Amazon, as the price is about the same as any other brand. I have many ego products, including the pole say, power shovel, snow blower, Z6 e-steer mower, leaf blower, edger, inverter, and many batteries from 2.5Ah to 12Ah and have never had a probelem with anything, but follow best practiced for battery use and charging. As always, register ALL EGO products right away for potential extended warranties. ... show more

    • Love it. Great so far. Update - very short battery life for cutting anything other than small trees.

It's easy to use, so much quieter than my old 2 cycle saw of course, and cuts very well. So far, so good. I haven't cut more than half a dozen small trees yet. The battery life seems to be fine. I'm sure it could be an issue if you were cutting up a very large tree. Then another battery would come in handy. Interestingly, at 12.5lbs, it weighs exactly the same (with a 2.5AHr battery) and has about the same balance as my old 30 year old, 16" Stihl Wood Boss. Follow-up After cutting down and cutting up a medium-sized maple tree, I was REALLY disappointed in the battery life. With the 2.5AHr battery, I was only able to make nine cuts through a 9" diameter tree trunk on a full charge. It took two battery charge cycles to cut up a single tree trunk into firewood lengths. It really needs to have the 5AHr battery, although even that wouldn't last too long, compared to a gas-powered saw. Luckily I don't do this too often, since I sold my old saw. ... show more

I have been slowly switching over to all ego yard tools, started with the blower, the weed trimmer, the mower, then chainsaw. All 3 have exceeded expectations and I never have an issue with battery's. I have 3 1 7.5 and 2 smaller all are compatible with the other tools so it's never an issue. The 7.5 battery does my whole yard if just maintaining but if I let grass get long or it's wet I use 1 7.5 and 1/3 of the smaller battery. Love these tools, will never go back to gas. Mower cuts everything my gas Husqvarna did, the trimmer and blower are both as strong or a hair stronger then my old gas stuff. ... show more
