Plenty of power & battery lasts
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
This does work great! It has plenty of power on low setting. High is great for overly thick stuff. Both heads swap out nicely. I've had this for a full season and a half now. I've had no issues.

Excellent purchase!
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
Excellent string trimmer and edger combo from EGO. Having used the multi head system for the last year I have no complaints. Battery last plenty long for my purposes and with plenty of power to get the job done. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to ditch a gas trimmer and invest in the EGO echo system. Buy with confidence. ... show more

Good quality, works well
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
We purchased the EGO multihead combo kit plus some other accessories last year. We have a large yard and do a lot of gardening and yardwork so it gets a lot of use. As a woman in my early 60's with some arthritis, I've found it easy to use and not too heavy. It seems to be very well made, and we've used every tool multiple times. The string trimmer especially has been easy to use, with less problems like excessive string breakage that my previous electric trimmer had, so I can get the job done quickly and without frustration. I am really looking forward to gardening and yardwork this year as the ECO has been making the heavy work so much easier. ... show more

Expensive but worth it.
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
If you want to go electric this is a good way to go. It's very heavy and if you're a slight person you may find this uncomfortable. It came with a strap which surprised me and am grateful for. Two things: it's very expensive but it is solid and all functions are first class. There are other similar trimmers but research always led me back to Ego. This particular combo never goes on sale. I watched and waited a year. Finally decided to go for it. Also...the 5.0ah battery only lasts approx 30 minutes. If you have a smaller area to edge/trim, that's fine. I have a large yard and walkway. It needs alot of attention. If you have an hour or more work to do you must have a back up battery if not 3. I recommend getting at least a 9.0ah battery. The charger is excellent and usually recharges in about 30 minutes, so using two batts in tandem works. Lastly it has a great warranty so register it and save your documentation. I dont have confidence in technology but with a solid warranty with a solid company I feel more comfortable with an extreme purchase. So if you have some extra cash and you want to enter the electric field I'm willing to recommend this combo. You can expect a quality experience. ... show more

What an incredible edger
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
I am very impressed with the edger. It works as well as my father’s Milwaukee brand edger. I myself am having trouble with the weed whacker I may be putting in the string wrong. I’ll work on that next summer to see what I’m doing wrong.

Quality Tool
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
Great tools - easy to change between edger and string trimmer. Battery charges quickly and lasts for a long time.

Awesome!
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
Note: I already own an EGO mower, chainsaw, blower, and light. They've earned my business over the last couple years with each buy. I love this thing. I had a Husqvarna 2 stroke multi-head system that has been pretty rock-solid for the last... (wow) 8 years - props to Husqvarna... but as soon as the carb needed some maintenance again, I decided instead of getting a new carb I would just forgo any lawn equipment maintenance in the future and ordered this. I was a little worries about if it would have enough power compared to my gas-powered one after reading a few reviews. I have no idea what kind of trimmers those guys are running, but if you're not planning on chopping down trees, this thing will do the job. It seriously out-performs my old one. I would usually have to build a bit of speed to cut into the dirt with the gas edger, but this edger shows no signs of slowing down. I haven't even used the second speed on this. I can't imagine the need. I don't have a tiny yard or anything, it usually takes me 20 minutes to do the drainage canal all along the front of my house, the fence along the back and sides, garden areas, around the patio, etc. I'd call my use pretty standard, but if it were more difficult, I would not be worried at all. As for battery life... amazing. The 4.0ah didn't even drop a bar (go below 80%) the last time I used it. I'm not trying to conserve it either - I still have the reflex to "bump" it above idle in between use, lol. Cons... I guess? I'm 6'4" so I added a carabiner clip on the shoulder strap to gain an extra 2 inches to better fit me because it seems a little too short without one. Get one. It's great. ... show more

Great multi head system
Style: Combo Size: Carbon Fiber Combo Kit, w/4.0Ah Battery
I used to have a Crapsman...uh I mean Craftsman multi head system...it lasted less than 2 years. I have had this now for going on 3 years and it is still good as newt's easy to operate and change powerhead.
