After waiting for a week and a half beyond the original delivery date because some brown company thinks they don't need to honor delivery dates. I unboxed and took this out to mow my weeks of overgrown grass. Hands down this is one of the best cutting mowers I've ever had. The factory blade is a great mulcher. After stalling it once in a thicker patch i learned that it senses the thicker grass slowing the rotation and speeds up. So just slowing down and letting the mower "throttle up" was all I needed. My yard is half an acre and being overgrown it took 2 and a half charges to finish in just over 1.5 hours. A weekly cutting will only require one full charge.     • Fantastic Mower, Makes Life Easier
Great lawn mower, batteries last a long time. The noise level is loud, but definitely still better than a gas mower. The charger charges the batteries extremely quickly. The headlights seemed like a gimmick, but they actually came in really useful when I had to mow at dusk. I also appreciate how easy it is to start the mower. The self-propelling feature is very handy for mowing under low branches, you can step to the side while pressing the self propel button. Self propel is also really nice for getting over hills and bumps easily. Tip: Make sure to remove the mulching insert if you plan on bagging your grass clippings. A bit embarrassing to admit, but it took me a while to figure out why I wasn’t getting any grass clippings in the bag. ... show more

This lawnmower is so easy to use my 8 year old can do it! This was a FANTASTIC purchase! The self-propel feature makes mowing a breeze & it’s adjustable! I would love to buy my parents one if it ever goes on sale again. Game changer for sure!

    • Good mower with level-set expectations
This first paragraph is for context on our use case and situation. I have the mower that arrived with two 4Ah batteries. We live on about 1/3rd acre with our house centered, a paved driveway, patio, deck, and a shed. Grass grows on most of our lawn, some areas very thick and fast, other areas almost none at all. We do have trees and shrubs trimming the house. The mower replaced a 6.5hp gas-powered yamaha. Overall I really like the EGO. I purchased it last year and wanted to give it a full 1 year of seasons to better gauge how it works. In fact, I liked it enough that I also bought an EGO weed eater and hedge trimmer. However I still only have the two 4Ah batteries. This spring I was able to weed eat and trim the hedges for my whole yard, and mow the full back yard and about 1/3rd of the front yard on the first battery. The second battery only lost one bar finishing the front yard. So for our purposes, the two batteries work really well. I use the self-propelled function almost exclusively on the mower. It pushes fine within the self-propelled wheels, but I like the ease. That said, I have noticed the mower consumes a noticeable amount more power with the wheels engaged than without. That isn't necessarily bad or unexepected, just noticeable. I also noticed that when the battery is nearly fully empty, the mower did seem to lose power. I would not have noticed; however when swapping to the fully charged battery I noticed how much power it seemed to lose with the battery drain. The other notable item to me is that the nearly drained battery was about 75% charged in the time it took me to complete mowing the front yard. For us, two 4Ah batteries are sufficient and I am glad with that choice. My one pain point this spring is that the thicker patches of grass did cause the mower to stop a couple times. To be fair, I was mowing at the second to lowest height setting and I mulch the cut grass so there is no discharge. Comparably, my gass mower was only used as a discharge and struggled through spring mowing much worse. I will likely stick with the mulching setup, but will definitely be raising the mower blade to a higher setting which sould help in those thick patches. Overall I am sticking with a four star review as I did expect the power boost setting to kick in more in the really thick grass sections. In my front yard, these spots are more of a straight shot and is a gradual shift from thinner to thicker grass. The power boost works well in this space. The back yard has more flash cutovers from low to thick and long grass sections which seems to give the power boost a challenge. ... show more

    • Great mower.
This mower is fantastic. I had to retire my ten year old Honda and was skeptical about going electric. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to use and light it is which is especially great when you have to lift the back when in corners. I can mow my lawn twice on one charge with power left over and it came with two batteries. Five stars for sure. ... show more

It’s nice but the ergonomics are not friendly at all. I wish I didn’t sell my previous model. I can’t recommend this and it gets bogged down very easily where I think something is actually wrong with it,

6/30/2026 - Bought recently. Only used once. Right now.....this really works! Cuts evenly. Battery lasts long time. Mowed about 1/2 hour only down one green bar. Battery charges quickly. Great lawnmower. Will update if necessary

Very disappointed when my previous Ego battery started dying quickly after 4 years. The new one is much heavier than my previous Ego that I loved. Bought this because it was less expensive than buying two new batteries. It’s also much slower and the levers you need to hold are much harder on your hands than my previous Ego.
