  • With the price of eggs now, why not hatch them yourselves?
Color: Gray
So full transparency, my husband and I are new to chick-rearing, and purchased our first set of chicks (pullets) about a month ago. They're nowhere near old enough for egg production, and we won't be introducing a rooster into our flock until then. Now, that being said, we are extremely Egg-cited with the prospect of rearing our own brood! The thought process of being self sufficient and managing a semi-sustainable farm has always been a dream of ours, and the Shender Egg incubator will be a great contributor to that. Included in this kit: Top Cover (which serves as the display board, heating mechanism, & motor), Small/Big gear, Transparent cover, 2 Egg trays (for small & large eggs), Grid plate, Base, 2 Bottles with Adaptors, Brush, Charging apparatus, and Manual. The build quality of this apparatus is phenomenal. Besides it being aesthetically pleasing, the tolerances and how it physically comes together, is a testament of a premium design at an affordable cost (especially during a time when the price of products from overseas are inflating, as well as the cost of eggs). As a test of this product, we went as far as to place a hydrometer inside the incubator, and both the temperature and humidity were within the deviation tolerances. And not for nothing, but the instruction manual was short, simple, and informative. Function testing this incubator was a breeze, and put our minds at ease when considering future brood rearing. The turning mechanism was smooth, and the candling light was bright. Honestly this incubator is the complete package. Final thoughts: Honestly, if you are looking for an all-in-one incubator, you can't go wrong considering the Shender. We plan on updating with more pictures and videos, once our pullets reach maturity, so stay tuned. But as a standalone product, we highly recommend. ... show more

  • Easy set up
Color: Gray
The automatic egg turning and humidity control work flawlessly, improving hatch success. Its size is just right for small batches of chicken or quail eggs. Easy to set up and clean—ideal for hobbyists and small farmers aiming for high hatch rates.

  • Quit working after two incubations, do not recommend!
Color: Gray
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This incubator was great until lastnight when it completely malfunctioned and does not work. Successfully incubated two round of quail eggs with almost 100% hatch rate in 1st setting. 2nd setting only hatched 9 out of 36 but 9 were not fertile and we also lost electricity for 6 hours a week before hatch so thought that played a part in that. Was 13 days into latest incubation and the incubator started malfunctioning on humidity levels and then the power supply box started blinking. Replaced the power supply and the electronics don’t work, just beeps and flashes fast with no screen display. Will not re-order and don’t recommend wasting your money on this one just to have it quit shortly after the return time. Capacity: Held a good amount of chicken and quail eggs which was nice Ease of use: Liked the set up and leave and the clear view dome. Was never able to add the water bottles as it would skyrocket humidity to 75%+ but was easy to just manually add water when needed. ... show more

  • Hatch rate was FABULOUS.
Color: Gray
This incubator actually hatched way better than my name brand to incubators. I just bought this year. My favorite thing is the water bottle attachments that help keep the humidity stable. If they went empty it beeped at you also you mow to refill. LOVE that feature. Secondly putting the top on and off was sooo easy compared to the nature right 360s where you have to make sure the lid is in all the slats. Third, it’s a lot easier to clean than the others as well! I’m going to sell my other nature right and order another of these. Definitely recommend. The price, for a small homestead is amazing. It’s affordable for sure. I also do love the color ☺️ ... show more

  • GREAT INCUBATOR
Color: Gray
My favorite incubator by fat. I've used this for over a year to hatch multiple batches of birds. It is easy to keep the correct humidity, temperature & cleans easy!

  • For a first time hatch it worked.
Color: Gray
The product came pretty much assembled, if you want to use the egg turner function you needed to install a small gear, the instructions were clear and it was easy. It is nice that it came with 2 different egg turning trays. The instructions were clear, there were times for all kinds of hatching from duck to quail, the candling information was somewhat helpful but not a great resource. I liked that it came with a calendar for you to copy and use. I did 2 incubations, with 5 days in-between. I did use a secondary hygrometer and I noticed a couple concerns: You can only control the humidity by a little wheel that closes down outlet holes. Even though we live on the coast in an area that fluctuates 10 degrees from winter to summer, it was very hard to maintain not only the humidity needed but also the temperature. I ended up piling blankets on top of the machine to keep the temperature up even then it fluctuated between 95-101 degrees. The humidity level never increased above 60% consistently unless I added an extra sponge of water. To take the cover off it was fiddly, I don't have arthritis but damn- I felt like I could not hold it, and when it came to swiping the chicks out I felt it was going to slide out and crush one. Just not enough gripping space. Honestly a flip top lid would be ideal. It was fairly easy to clean, but after the second round I wanted it to get extra clean... I either missed it, or they did not think someone like me would think to put all the parts (not the electronic parts!) in the dishwasher... Not dishwasher safe in the least. So that was my bad. Now the whole thing is in recycling. But honestly next round I was going to go with another brand to see if there was a difference. Now I know what to look for, but for my 2- hatchings the separate hygrometer was, I feel, what made them a success. Otherwise I would have depended on the settings ontop of the machine, not knowing that down at the eggs it was only 95 degrees and would not have done the trouble shooting... thus having duds with the hatching. So all in all, on sale it was a fun, but for full time use I'm going to try another design ... show more
