    • A great fan choice

I've installed at least ten ceiling fans over time and this was the easiest fan to install of all of them. The packaging was very secure and the fit and finish of the fan is outstanding. I'd never heard of this brand, but I would not hesitate to buy anything Edishine branded again. The quality is very good. The hardware kit was especially thoughtful with the correct amount of fasteners (including wirenuts) for a complete installation. The remote also comes with batteries and a wall mount kit. The assembly instructions are very thorough and easy to understand, although the sequence they recommend is not necessarily the best one. I put the fan assembly up first and then installed the blades. Any other way and you're fighting the blades to install it. The lighting assembly was installed after the blades making for a "top down" assembly process which worked well for me. The fan is super quiet and very powerful; I never have had to run the fan any higher than level three on the remote (there are six). The remote is also assignable, meaning that if you have more than one of these fans (as I do) the remote pairs only to that fan. This keeps it from errantly turning on and off by another remote in an adjacent room. A couple of things to consider: The short mounting stem would be incredibly hard to install considering how much wiring and the control module have to be installed in the canopy. Plan on using the longer stem. These fans don't come with any lamps, so purchase your choice of lamps separately. This fan also has a dimmer, so if you buy LED lamps, get some that are capable of dimming if you want to use that feature. Lastly, the only complaint I have is not with the fan but with Amazon shipping. They shipped this fan package inside a much larger box. There was nothing else inside the giant box but this fan box. No packing whatsoever. SMH in disbelief when I opened the first one. I like this fan so much that I bought two more. Cheers! ... show more

My husband installed these fans in our house and the power that it puts off it amazing for those dreadful hot summers! The instructions to put the fan together made sense and didn’t give us too much trouble. The fan is definitely built tough and doesn’t shake when on the highest setting. The fan and light fixture is beautiful. My issue is with the remote. It does not function as it should. You cannot turn off the light without turning off at the main switch and as soon as you flip the switch back on, the light comes back on minus the fan. I had to go from the short shank to the longer shank because could not see to install with shorter one. Assembly was easy, however, it was due to just assembling another fan of a different brand. The instructions were not as well written. Edit: I figured out the the remote, so I'm changing to 4 stars. I still believe the instructions could be improved. The fan is absolutely beautiful with this light fixture and really adds to my living room. ... show more

Best fan ever - looks great, feels great, easy to install. Being able to use the remote to adjust fan speed is a life changer. Lightbulbs don't seem to dim too much but that could be the bulbs and not the fan. We're looking at ordering the same fan for other rooms in our house. Would be nice if they came with an extra remote - just in case you lose the one. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Metal frame was bent nearly 90 degrees out of the box; we repaired it ourselves. Instructions were hidden under a false bottom of the box. Canopy is too small to fit the wires inside without using profanity. If you're wanting to use the shorter downrod, be forewarned that you're left with too little space to secure the fan into place; we ultimately opted for the less desirable 10" one. Instructions are difficult to follow. Scary wobbly when fan is at high speeds. The variable "wind" feature is neat but quite a bit of noise is produced at the higher speeds, making it a multi-sensory distraction. Almost disassembled the whole thing and returned it - the customer service rep didn't mention that you must PAIR the remote to the fan (hidden in a non-essential location of the instructions on page 11) before use. (The remote-controlled ceiling fan we bought earlier this year did not require pairing.) But! It did work eventually - both lighting and cooling the room - and has a pleasing design. ... show more
