I bought it this because of the joint construction, solid wood, and color finish. But this was a better purchase than I even realized! What a beautiful bedside step stool this is! The finish is very pretty. It's got non-slip stuff on the bottom corners and doesn't shift around. The wood and construction are totally solid. I have no fear of this breaking when used; there's no flex or creakiness. The only thing I have to figure out, and I mean only one thing, is that the beautiful wood finish is smooth. I need it to be a little less slippery on top, but I don't want to cover the beautiful wood finish. But frankly, so far I haven't slipped or anything like that.
